I think overall the R&R HOF like most any museum is a good thing. It helps preserve history even if it's selective. Just think of the media attention it gets every year.

With more and more radio stations disappearing, the only things that keep interest in vintage music alive are the HOF and movies, it seems.

Of course, everyone has his or her own ideas of who is missing among the inductees. I for one can't understand why the Clovers haven't been inducted yet.

To be fair to Alan Freed, he may not have invented it, but he was the one who popularised the term rock 'n' roll and first used it to describe the 'new' music craze of the day.
