See See Rider 1972 + Backstage

Here you can also post any related video's of Elvis too, except impersonator video's where they imitate Elvis' voice of material he recorded.

To me, this is ruined by the "Go get em', Lard" and "Go get 'em, Fatty" comments toward Lamar. It's especially bad because it was said on camera.

Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen.
You're a beautiful audience.

Exactly - and Jerry Schilling (who as we know wound up being an editor for "Elvis On Tour") also smiled real big when everybody said it.

(Plus, the date is incorrect on the video description, itself - it's not from July 13, 1972 as we know - it's a mix of footage from April 15, 1972 (Macon, GA), Detroit, MI (April 6, 1972) & San Antonio, TX (April 18, 1972).

"If the songs don't go over, we can do a medley of costumes!" - Elvis Presley (August 10, 1970 backstage in his dressing room before the first show of the August, 10, 1970/September 8, 1970 season in Vegas).

If I'm not mistaken, it's Shilling who actually says "Get 'em fatty".

What part of the footage is from Detroit in April '72? My parents were at that show. I remember a "Welcome to Detroit" sign in one of the montage segments but otherwise I've never read what was footage was used from there.

In Detroit the band was wearing powder blue. In San Antonio they were wearing black.

You know, that version of "Dixie" and uh, the "Battle Hymn of the Republic," it's so beautiful!
The band he's put together is so over-the-top, and only Elvis would have that kinda spending power, and just audacious craziness. Choirs, and orchestras, and a great rhythm section, maybe another gospel group on the side. None of it makes sense until you suddenly hear something like that, and they're all playing a role in that, and it's very moving music. That's the pure joy of music in the man. You know, that's when I see everything stop.

Also, after singing "Burning Love" from San Antonio, TX, the cameras show him running through a red curtain. This red curtain can also be seen in "EOT: Through My Eyes" as he walks onstage then it quickly (and seamlessly, I might add) switches to San Antonio, TX.
