Here you can also post any related video's of Elvis too, except impersonator video's where they imitate Elvis' voice of material he recorded.

Elvis and Billy Fury mix of "Because of Love"

Tue May 13, 2008 8:12 pm

Found this on another thread in the off topic section, thought the video was actually pretty good, personally I didn't mind the Bill Fury version, tho I never really liked the song to begin with, even when Elvis sang it.

Anyway here it is again and the original link to the thread:

Comparing their voices, it seems Elvis' has a more 'natural' sound to it.

Billy sounds like he's 'trying' to make it sound like it does !

I quite enjoy Billy's but a whole CD album of it might get a bit much.

Just a thought..........

I agree with you Colin, there is a huge gap in talent between the two artist's.

Fury did OK on this song, but when one dives further in his career, I personally am not all that impressed with other stuff that he has recorded.

Elvis could at least record crap and make One still think it wasn't so bad, not many artist' can do the same and get away with it and that includes Billy Fury.

Fury reminds me of Englands Fabian, manufactured, Fury singing ability is a little better than Fabian's tho, still he was manufactured just the same. There is some talent there, but not much.

Billy's seems better produced, perhaps because it was a single, but Elvis is the greater singer of course.

Yes, they tried harder on the Fury version.

For Elvis, it was just another 'contractual obligation' soundtrack album filler.

Your right Mike Eder and you as well Colin, it does appear that way.

This song is starting to grow on me, I'm actually starting to like it with the help of Fury and the video.

Glad you like the video, I agree Billy's version is better produced with a fuller sound. Billy was a big Elvis fan and sang many 'Presley' related songs during his career,

He does a good 'Just Because' too:

Although its more cabaret than Sun

Like Elvis, Billy is known for his Rock & Roll but to me they were fantastic interpreters of ballads . . .

BILLY:

I'm Lost Without You / Halfway To Paradise

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=9hiNzzxYk2U

ELVIS:

In My Way / Surrender / There's Always Me / I've Lost You
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=rX0zNwZOKsw
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=oPFiuvB0PCE

In My Way has a vocal as pure as sugar!
