Here you can also post any related video's of Elvis too, except impersonator video's where they imitate Elvis' voice of material he recorded.

And when is this DVD coming out?

Re: new dvd "The Front Row Films Remastered" preview

Good footage there but nothing new as we probably all got the footage on other compilations!
Id definetly buy it though just for another 8mm compilation dvd. And the footage does look in good quality! Although we have the " In person series" where most of the footage is originally from or taken from. Id like to see more of the tassle suit from 1970 that there is about 8 mins floating around, not the opening night aug 10th suit, the suit im on about has tassles all the way down the arms and legs and is a white jumpsuit, ill try get some screen shots from the dvd i have unless Omnipresence can locate??

Daz, the footage you're thinking of is from 71, not 70. You can make out Elvis singing the impossible dream in some it.

The Front Row Films Remastered - 7 DVD Set

This amazing set finally answers the calling of all the Elvis fans who wanted to see the rare films, but up close so he could be clearly seen, and not look like the "ghost" of Elvis, as it is referred to on many fan sites. This set features footage from over 110 different concerts given by Elvis from his first performances from 1954 all through to his last performance in 1977. Also, for the first time, each and every video has been speed-corrected and also has the correct audio perfectly synched for each video. To make things even better for the viewer, each dvd has an interactive menu, and song chapter selections on each and every show. This is, without a doubt, the greatest set of rare unofficial Elvis films ever released together and will replace all other sets when it comes to casual watching. This set should please all fans. Here is a link to the content on the dvd, and it shows a few seconds of every show on the set.

Is that 1954 Memphis footage real? Overton park shell.
His first real pro gig. Has that been discovered?
Anyone?

Re: new dvd "The Front Row Films Remastered" preview

Tue Feb 05, 2008 4:56 am

All I can say is, how many times are people going to buy footage that has been released 10 times already on other videos???? That's just insane! I see nothing above that is new.......

Re: new dvd "The Front Row Films Remastered" preview

Tue Feb 05, 2008 5:24 am

I agree, if I were just re-releasing the same stuff thats already out, but none of this is. As the description says, all videos have been speed-corrected and synched to their actual audio for the first time. Last I checked, these videos were only available in this quality with terrible porn music in the background, and the footage usually ran so fast it was comical. As you can see from the youtube links, its not the same ol same ol.

Re: new dvd "The Front Row Films Remastered" preview

Tue Feb 05, 2008 6:28 am

Alot of what's on the 7 discs has been released for the most part. The King Masters and Rockin The Nation discs hold alot of this footage

Re: new dvd "The Front Row Films Remastered" preview

Tue Feb 05, 2008 6:36 am

Maybe so, but none were released with the right audio, or any real audio at all, and they usually are run way too fast or way too slow. The person that made those old vhs' still has the awful method of running the same footage 2 or 3 times in a row so that he can claim he has 3 times the amount of footage seen anywhere else, not to mention that on those releases, they tend to have a couple of mins of footage before switching to something else, eventually recycling to the first batch of footage again whereas here, they are in a chronological order and all together, and speed corrected, and set to the right audio. Thats why I consider this set to replace all of the old inferior ones. You certainly dont have to add it to your collection, though you will no doubt go on your usual crusade to bash it....

Re: new dvd "The Front Row Films Remastered" preview

Tue Feb 05, 2008 7:53 am

whilst this is certainly 'interesting' just out of the top of my head much footage is missing from this list.do they NOT use any good silent footage and dub sound? do they ONLY use footage for which they had real matching sound? reason i ask is because known footage brief but good from St Louis 28.6.73 is missing as well as Birmingham 29.12.76 just to name 2 bits of 'known' footage....also most(except west palm beach) of the 'known' footage WITH matching sound is missing from 1st tour of 1977(such as 12.2.77,14.2.77,15.2.77,16.2.77,19.2.77).

Now you know, I was just stating my opinion about this and wasn't trying to start any fights, since I was man enough to pm you and apologize to you on tkc forum Brett. But obviously you don't want to bury the hatchet. That's fine with me. I can argue with you until you're blue in the face. If you can find people who will pay the $25.00 per disc then by all means, more power to you. Some of those fans are right here on this board. If they just had the balls to speak up. Yes, I know, on your shopvendio page it will say alot less for all the discs, but too many peoples testimonies say differently on what you charge to the unsuspecting fans. You have customers who I guess are pretty faithful to you and the videos you make, which hey, by all means, good for you. It's not my problem that alot of the good fans don't know bad quality from good quality, vcd dvds from better sources, repetitive footage and so forth. Not sure about the "other" person you are talking about, but I think I know who it is, that guy might repeat his footage, but, the quality has always been excellent. I think it's pretty ironic to talk about that since on some of "your" videos I can tell where clips have been used over and over again to give the effect of a complete concert. I give you credit for the advertisement that you do for your videos. Enough talking, guess the "bashing" has been reinstated

Re: new dvd "The Front Row Films Remastered" preview

Tue Feb 05, 2008 5:59 pm

No thanks Matt, I dont enjoy arguing with you, and people only spend $25 per disc from the man in Arkansas, you should know that. And to answer YDKM's question, if you'll notice, all footage up to '74 was always silent since they never had sound on the cameras then. All footage has been overdubbed with the audio. It is not like I slapped on other peoples footage and called it my own. Again, all videos have been speed corrected and matched with the right sound. All of the Bob Heis footage always had the porn music and it always ran wayyyyy too fast. If you'll look at the links provided, you'll see it does not suffer from this, or repeating footage, or footage running forward, then backwards, and so on.

Re: new dvd "The Front Row Films Remastered" preview

Tue Feb 05, 2008 6:04 pm

P.S. the point of the release was to have nothing but clear quality films tht elvis' face can be seen and it is quite clear what he is saying and doing. Birmingham is good footage for us collectors, but the only time you can see his face is during Funny How TIme Slips Away, the rest is just a glow of white. 6/28/73 is shot from an upper deck seat. While it is easy to spot the Aloha suit E wears, I defy you to read his lips on that one. Except for West Palm Beach, all other Feb 77 footage is from far away (See Once Upon A Time In 1977. Best silent film on the set that has been fixed is any of the 70-73 films, especially the late 1970 stuff and Late '71. Again,. none have been put out like this before, and at my store the prices are clearly displayed, and shipping is always refunded, so I have no clue what Matt is referring to about overcharging. How can I overcharge when the prices are set? Again, I'm not trying to argue with Matt or anyone else here, but when you make a statement that I overcharge or rip people off or whatever you are implying, you simply have no leg to stand on. Dvds from Arkansas that are in such good quality that they loop themselves and all suffer from digital errors run $25-35 each. Mine are $12 each with a guarantee of perfect playability and free shipping after 3 titles and they are all the same exact files AK man sells for 3 times as much. The only difference is mine will play, his wont. So how exactly am I overcharging?

ok- thanks for answering ALL my points! still 'interesting' but i would have thought the 40 minutes of Elvis in Hollywood 12.2.77 would have also been worthy of making the dvd too??

How does this set compare to the 3 dvd Pieces Of My Life? Do they cancel each other out or are there good things on both?

For us collectors, it is great footage, but its also from the balcony making it look like Elvis' ghost on stage.

Mike Eder wrote:How does this set compare to the 3 dvd Pieces Of My Life? Do they cancel each other out or are there good things on both?

Theres really no comparison. P.O.M.L. set shows us virtually every single song E did on stage, from an unofficial source, and all songs are complete. Here, it is a chronological set of footage from beginning to end. Theres a lot of complete songs here, but not near what P.O.M.L. had as its focus is just the footage with the right sound finally. Though some would disagree, I think both sets cancel out 99% of all previous sets to date. No more videos that go in slow motion or cartoonish fast motion, no porn music, no looping backwards and forwards the video (especially like a newer version of the Feb 70 footage floating around), ect. Just the films the way they should have always been.
