Love this interview.
The Colonel is very forthright. It's hard to even want to doubt him.
The 50 / 50 split is contentious, yet he seems especially clear on it there.
Elvis definitely kept putting a world tour off -- and blaming it on The Colonel's back. Who, in their right mind, would ever believe that? (Even though Parker had back problems).
And Elvis was meant to have turned down "A Star Is Born" of his own accord, getting The Colonel to play the bad guy.
On the other hand, The Colonel seemed to do little in his time to encourage Elvis, or get him to broaden his horizons. He was much happier enforcing the status quo.
They were both flawed in different ways. Elvis was not an easy client to manage -- The Colonel was probably the only one who could do it for as long as he did . . .
