Well, yes, Ricky was one of a group of singers heavily influenced and inspired by the Elvis phenomenon.

Ricky was an Elvis fan, but Elvis was also a Ricky fan, and a James Burton fan. I was watching one of the Elvis concert videos with mom and dad a few years ago ("The Lost Performances"), and dad said the guitar player reminded him of the guy that played with Ricky on the Ozzie and Harriet show. I said, "it's the same guy, dad". Blew his mind.
