Thanks for the news breaking info which I assume no one else on this forum is aware of. Nice to know you have it readily available at your fingertips. And just in case you haven’t got it, I found this helpful number on the Internet for you and others in case Elvis should start dropping down the charts - 116 123. Keep smiling though - it’s Wednesday and you only have two more days to go.

Re: Christmas With Elvis and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestr
Well not really. When it goes to top of charts or if it drops out of the top 30, then it creates some real interest for various reasons. But getting daily reports that it is stuck at #9 in the midweek chart, which in itself carries no real weight and is often meaningless as by the time the actual chart is published, the final positions change and in some instances and not just Elvis, the changes are significant. So I find these daily updates do not cut it for me. But if it gives you something to discuss around the dinner table with family and friends, then whatever turns you on.Laser- Freak on Wed Dec 13, 2017 8:02 pm wrote:Is the last thread page now according to your ideas?emjel on Mon Dec 11, 2017 6:47 pm wrote:... Re: Christmas With Elvis and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestr
It has nothing to do with members not liking chart chart success. You could look at the chart placement 5 years down the line and if the album reached a top #7 placement mext week, then that would be it. You could discuss it’s merits next month, next year or in 10 years time. It would not change. Getting daily midweek updates will be irrelevant next week, next year or in 10 years time. But I have provided a link so that should you awake in the middle of the night with a craving to know the latest chart position, you can look it up and then discuss it around the breakfast table. Easy really.GERRY on Wed Dec 13, 2017 9:56 pm wrote:No we really appreciate the great members here who report the chart positions and stats.emjel on Tue Dec 12, 2017 11:46 pm wrote:You could check yourself on the Official Chart website, every hour if you wish.

Re: Christmas With Elvis and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestr
We like to enjoy this success now, in the moment. And discuss it and spread the news. This breeds more success for our man.
Buzz around releases is good and not everyone who loves Elvis will know.
It's so nice to tell them and to keep talking about this success.

Correct. And we will continue to do so here on FECC, no doubt about it, and this is the place to do so.GERRY on Wed Dec 13, 2017 11:07 pm wrote:We like to enjoy this success now, in the moment.

Re: Christmas With Elvis and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestr
You must know the charts come out every Friday evening. So why not check this topic then or go on the official chart website? That way you won't read all the daily updates that annoy you. Just a suggestion.emjel on Wed Dec 13, 2017 8:51 pm wrote:Well not really. When it goes to top of charts or if it drops out of the top 30, then it creates some real interest for various reasons. Re: Christmas With Elvis and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestr
Well that is a perfectly reasonable suggestion. The problem is that we do not know what the contents of the post is and as the thread title is not just about the charts, it gets opened thinking that it may contain something interesting like someone has spotted they have used a different take on the Peace In The Valley tracks or that Sony have announced they are doing a limited deluxe box set after all. Of course when something gets posted around Friday early evening, the odds are that it is about the chart placing which is perfectly reasonable and those chart positions will be documented for weeks, months and years to come. Mid week positions are somewhat meaningless.garyt on Thu Dec 14, 2017 10:07 am wrote:You must know the charts come out every Friday evening. This thread is running at over 20 thousand hits and aside from the long-running Soundscan thread is currently the most popular thread in All Elvis page 1 by quite some distance. Clearly, there's an awful lot of interest involved in it and that's all that matters.
