The song is beautiful. The filming of it is awful. One fixed camera. Taurog must have been having an off day.

I'm not too big a fan of the scene from the movie (I find it kind of boring. I mean, it's just Elvis sitting there for two and a half minutes). But I love the song itself. One of his best vocal performances, in my opinion.

The Tiu sisters are my favorite part of Girls, Girls, Girls and It Happened At The World's Fair. Talented and adorable.

peter, sorry to say this, but Norman Taurog was getting older until the point he was almost blind when Elvis did Live a Little, Love a Little.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! So far I am the only one who likes the scene ! I just like the fixed camera and the song.

Well, none of that is evident in the faster-paced Speedway, for example. Or during the rest of World's Fair. The problem here is laziness and lack of imagination. It ranks up there with the dullest three minutes in any Elvis film.

The interior monologue of They Remind Me Too Much of You is wasted. Compare the scene with the similar, but finely filmed, I Need Somebody To Lean On in Viva Las Vegas. Chalk and cheese.

I like the scene.
It's a lovely, quiet moment. Whatever form of transportation they are using, it flows with the song. The lighting is fine and I like that it's set at night.

Not every scene in a movie has to have a dynamic / moving camera. Putting the camera in a static position and having other things move in the frame is fine with me. It certainly worked in a scene like this.

I think Elvis did a fine job with a scene with no talking.

Elvis fell pretty deeply in love here, singing, in his mind, this heartbreak song just hours after meeting the young woman.

I'm no fan of the film and it's soundtrack but I have a special fondness for They remind me too much of you. Love the intimacy and the atmosphere.

Isn't having a fixed camera different? Nothing one can do but see what's happening. An open window, so to speak. An artful decision maybe?

The camera is fixed. But on that railway, there's constant movement as a backdrop with cool views of the fair grounds at night. It's almost like the camera does not exist. The coming to life of the bear for a second, is a nice and tender touch. My take!

Hi there!! :D :D :D.

Beautiful song with Elvis at his prime vocally! :smt020.

The master & outtakes are badly recorded as there´s like a buzz sound on the background, although the outtakes sound slightly better...... Don Robertson plays piano on this recording session & his original demo is terrific too 8). Bye for now :smt006.

It's terrible miming, he hardly opens his mouth. He has no idea when the songs begins or ends and has totally lost his place! I can't believe they left this take in, Elvis was capable of so much better...

I'm kidding!
Beautiful song, beautifully sung. It's a nice scene but I always feel it just about outstays its welcome. Of course, a similiar none singing song scene is in Viva Las Vegas but there he joins in at the end (I need somebody to lean on) which I think works much better...

I played the film for my girlfriend a few weeks ago - and she is not an Elvis fan at all! But she liked the movie, and she did say he had a good voice - just didn't like how they had him singing every 10 minutes. I told her "Elvis didn't like musicals, either, he wanted to be a serious actor".

Mike, that's not a buzz. That's a double bass played with a bow! lol

Couldn't agree more.
on the recording it's a perfect marriage of Elvis' vocal and the backup vocalists (The Mello Men: Thurl Ravenscroft; Bill Lee; Bill Cole; Max Smith) it's perfect.

when i was a lot younger a girl i cared for very deeply broke my heart.
i wrote the lyrics to this out as a poem - it worked, she came back! we we're together another 6 months.

it has always been in my personal top ten Elvis songs.

Always Elvis

It may be a "double bass played with a bow" but I don't like it. I've edited out the intro and picked it up when Elvis comes in and I like it much better. I used take 7, which I think is better than the master.
