Re: Last Elvis Album (LP) You Listened To Was?
I'm not keen on the cover art, but I do enjoy the album, and it's unique mixes. It was one of the first Elvis CD's I bought, so it has sentimental value too.
In respect of not drawing attention to the new mixes, I think this was the norm at the time. The Memphis Record, The Rocker albums, Reconsider Baby and A Valentine Gift...all featured different mixes or edits (and not always for the better) but this doesn't appear to have been viewed as a selling point at the time.
From memory, the only track I can remember being listed as a new edit on the album sleeve is the edit of Stranger In My Own Home Town on the Reconsider Baby LP.

Very fine album too, on blue vinyl with great originals, cool outtakes and fine edits.

On Friday I took a long walk with my dog and I listened to ELVIS AT STAX via Tidal. It's a very enjoyable compilation.

I could never get decent sound out of my table. My wife always complained about records being on the table when she was putting dinner outJohnny2523 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 3:34 pmThis beautiful U.K pressing of Almost In Love is on my table today

"Tomorrow Night" [making its debut in undubbed form] was also edited [the minimalist guitar solo removed].JohanD wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 2:32 pm"Mery christmas baby" is written nas "alternate edit" tooJohanD wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 2:27 pmYes, they noted it was an "alternate mix"" on that one....rockinrebel wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 12:29 pm

and it's a good budget album especially the sleeve. It was great that Peter Aldersley, the RCA UK rep spotted the photo in The Colonel's office and asked if they could use it for the album.Johnny2523 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 3:42 pmHa, that's a good one!emjel wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 3:40 pmI could never get decent sound out of my table. Re: Last Elvis Album (LP) You Listened To Was?
Now I could see that kind of shot being used for the On Stage album but not for an album of 60s soundtrack songs. Whatever was The Colonel and RCA thinking. When you consider the number of great photos that have turned up over the years that could have been used. But RCA had a real problem with some of his sleeves - why put a VLV shot on the back of From Elvis In Memphis. Crazy.

I remember that album.
One of the first boot albums that I ever bought (about 1978).

Re: Last Elvis Album (LP) You Listened To Was?
My vinyl has gone, to a devoted fan, much younger than me. But, I made copies of those late vinyls I bought, Reconsider Baby among them, and I'm glad I did! I think the last one I listened to was Top Ten Hits, The US LP album! They were supposed to hold "rare mixes", but I just passed them by! I still stick to the "originals"...

Listening to this 1982 Dutch RCA release which translates to "Unforgettable Hits".. the person to tell me the original name of this release (the lp you see was a retitled lp with a different cover) gets a brownie point

I got a copy of that album when it came out. Not sure if I still have it. Those were the days when we bought albums just for the sleeves.

it was a interesting cover for sure, utilizing the spinout cover, but replacing the background and changing it to a green background.
