Danish Henrik Knudsen convicted of 67,000 Euro
The Danish Henrik Knudsen, driving force behind Elvis Unlimited, and the Memphis mansion, yesterday was sentenced to a fine of 67,000 Euros. The house, a copy of Graceland in Memphis, it quickly became known as Graceland Randers. However Knudsen received a letter in the bus by the lawyer of Elvis Presley Enterprises stating that he had to change the name. Further, it had also filed a lawsuit against Knudsen due to a trade in fake Elvis products and bootlegs.
Knudsen changed the name last year to Memphis mansion, but today the court said the penalty from which Knudsen to EPE must pay. The fine amounted to 500,000 Danish Kroner, or 67,000 Euros. An expensive bite in the account of Danish museum in Randers.

EPE while legally in their right, shows no class imo
I highly doubt this took any money from their already stuffed pockets.

Nice way to treat one of your biggest supporters. I'm confident that the publicity, awareness and general goodwill generated by Henrik over the years far outweighs whatever benefit derived from GRACELAND RANDERS.

There was not any detail about EPE's actual claims, but the end of the day, EPE does not care about Henrik being a supporter or super fan, it cares about protecting its intellectual property rights. It does not want to set a precedent by allowing people in business to encroach on their product and rights.

Re: Memphis Mansion's Henrik Knudsen fined 67,000 Euros
I know many here will disagree with me. But he really got what he deserved.
I've seen a Danish guy doing some illegal business for more than 30 years. It's strange that RCA did not catch him earlier, but I presume that has something to do with his bootleg buddy.
But challenging EPE was a lovely mistake. And he got what he deserved. The fine is probably too low, compared to the income from illegal business. And he can just sell his car, and keep on doing what he does best.
Calling the Danish a fan is unfair to the real Elvis fans. He did it for the money. And those that did business with him in the 80's and 90's experienced exactly that. Ask Ger, Arjan and a couple of us Germans.
The real Danish fan is Vejlby, he is genuine.

How much do EPE lose because of what Henrik does in promoting the Elvis name?midnightx wrote:There was not any detail about EPE's actual claims, but the end of the day, EPE does not care about Henrik being a supporter or super fan, it cares about protecting its intellectual property rights. How much does Pepsi or Coca Cola lose if you stand outside your house selling brown fizzy fruit juice out of a dustbin, masquerading as either of those two products? Try it and find out.TheMaskedClown wrote:How much do EPE lose because of what Henrik does in promoting the Elvis name?midnightx wrote:There was not any detail about EPE's actual claims, but the end of the day, EPE does not care about Henrik being a supporter or super fan, it cares about protecting its intellectual property rights. What difference does that make? It's the same as licensing professional sports franchises or any other copyright or trademark. Note what The Pirate says above...TheMaskedClown wrote:How much do EPE lose because of what Henrik does in promoting the Elvis name?midnightx wrote:There was not any detail about EPE's actual claims, but the end of the day, EPE does not care about Henrik being a supporter or super fan, it cares about protecting its intellectual property rights. ...the law is the law with regards to property rights...simply abide by it...not to difficult to understand...
Re: Memphis Mansion's Henrik Knudsen fined 67,000 Euros
Its a joke especially if now if he continues to sell FTD's as a main supplier, especially now being caught bootlegging, especially when the likes of EE were suspended for a number of years.
But I suppose FTD would have to strike them all off the supply list, as they all sell boots, and some produce bootlegs also.and EE hasn't learned from the suspension he got as he is still at it more blatant than ever lol.
and this has been going on since day one.
But today personally bootleggers and especially dealers should be held more account for what they produce and sell, as its 99% pure rubbish and nothing new, yet they through it out like there is no tomorrow.

I do find the discussion out of place. I know that Henrik Knudsen and Memphis Mansion are doing a fantastic job in keeping Elvis' music alive even today. He is a great fan and is also running a business. Personal attacks on any person do not belong on this site!
Just my personal opinion.

I agree, no need for personal attacks.ErR wrote: ↑Sat Sep 11, 2021 9:24 amI do find the discussion out of place. But no one here has done so, its an attack on what he has chosen of his own free will to do, not on him personally.
We are not saying the size of his nose is big or his mouthwash aint making it.
If he has never turned a profit and has given back all the net profit to the fans over the years then I would feel a bit for him as that would show he was a super fan not in it for the money but to promote Elvis for the morally right reasons.
But buisness is business and his masquerading as a super fan "doing it purely for the fans" was a cover to line his own pocket from what I can see.
But I'll happily be corrected is there's more to see that I'm unaware of.
