As a teenager trying to style my hair like Elvis's, and poring over many photographs to get it as right as possible, I recall noticing that EP parted his hair from left to right in the 50s. Around 1961-62,this changed to parting his hair from right to left, and that's how it stayed for the rest of his life. At 13 and 14 I frustratingly couldn't grow sideburns so I tended to style my hair similar to EPs in the mid 60's. Now I have the opposite problem-the sideburns have appeared but the hair has disappeared.

Off topic  , but about his hairstyle in general, I`m sure he cared a lot about his hair. Anyway, many of the official pictures we know from the 60`are not really his style(Hope not), but how "they" wanted him to look for film and pictures. Later I think he thought he needed to follow the modern long hair style.....some periodes his hair looked ok, but IMO it was a shame when he took those (Too)big sideburns and wild long hair. To me his face was too nice to cover up in all that hair......even when he comed it back. I wish short hair in a nice haircut 50`style had overruled the long hair periode. The 70`was a mess of hair.......and Elvis` wasn`t the worst to be seen for that periode of time I may add......
