Dr. Carpenter,
Elvis once said from the stage that the Sweet Inspirations smelled like green peppers and onions and had probably been eating catfish. I'm not sure exactly what that means but I don't think it's nice.
He also made comments about Kathy Westmoreland, saying on stage that she would "take affection from anybody, anyplace, any time. In fact, she gets it from the whole band."
So yes, he did make mean remarks about people from the stage.

Doesn't stop Charlie from being so...just for different reasons that's all.jurasic1968 wrote:Charlie Hodge is an important part of Elvis history? If Charlie was so, what about Sam Phillips, Marion Keisker, Scotty Moore, Chips Moman and Steve Binder?

Re: Moby Dick?
He was referring to the Led Zeppelin song which would not be released for awhile after he said it..because he was beyond space and time and could see into the future...

Yes, the ill-fated July 1975 tour. That's all well and fine, but it has nothing to do with my statement:Hound Dawg wrote:Dr. Carpenter,

This is a fact, and was in reply to the implication Elvis was not referring to the legendary literary and cinema character in June 1968.Elvis did not make fun of his friends while taping performances for U.S. network broadcast.

CBS-TV: Friday, February 4, 1966
Betcha Elvis watched both times. He loved Moby Dick very, very much.
