Nice video, with beautiful shots from February and March 1961, nearly all of them new to my eyes. The backstage pose with the older lady at Ellis on the afternoon of 2-25-1961 caught my eye -- any idea who she was?

This looks to be yet another magnificent FTD publication!

Love the cool promo!

A very interesting period of Elvis' life and a high quality presentation by FTD.

Essential.

The books are nice, but they are too expensive. You can go broke buying books these days.

Not all Elvis books are created equally. I can only assume you've not picked up any of the David English FTD book titles. They are beautifully designed, with high quality paper and strong binding, and feature scores and scores of unpublished, professional and candid photos (with accurate dating), and lots of text and documentation relevant to the period being covered. A reader derives enjoyment while learning more about the man and his music.

The book noted in this topic also includes a MONO version of Something For Everybody, looks to be $85.00:

Memphis to Nashville '61

Not a bad deal for a limited printing.

Additionally the FTD books form a comprehensive Elvis Presley encyclopaedia of chosen years.

Another essential shelf filler David, just finished it and another most enjoyable read, as all your books have been. The SFE Mono cd was a nice bonus too as I have often cited the Mono LP as an essential listen ... and I'm very much a stereo fan! Look forward to the next project you work on...

Got my copy from Chris Giles. This book is beautifull, so well
Put together - great photographs and info.

The only crying shame is no audio has surfaced ot the live shows -
To hear "Doin' The Best I Can" live would have been a treat and
A great accompliment to this great book.

Well done, davide. A winner!

Great stuff. Elvis was on it to the max in '61. Looking at the pictures it's easy to say that he should, and could have achieved more. Heck, he looks as though he could have achieved anything.

But it's also easy to see, perhaps, why he took the route he did. He wasn't Elvis the Pelvis anymore, he was in show business now.

The new video is a treat. We see super-fan Gary Pepper in attendance, and notice Elvis' hair is a lot longer than imagined, just combed back a bit. He really handled these press conferences with aplomb, and they were few and far in-between after he returned from the army. I hope this new book is very well-received, it certainly deserves it.
