I just saw on a facebook link, the DVDs will be what we already have. Nothing new. 200.00 dollars for a few uneleased shows? I'll pass.

Is one CD enough to compile the best rehearsal material or would they need two CDs? If the original album is included, seems like they could append some additional bonus rehearsals on that disc as there would be unused space after the original Lp tracks. And do they finally have a better quality audio source for "Oh Happy Day?" The version on the TTWII 30th CD had atrocious sound quality.

Seems to me that it would be more logical that this set will include remixes of the previously released concerts, not just remasters of them. Otherwise, the box would be an inconsistent hodgepodge of different mixing styles. A remix might also encourage some of those who have purchased shows before to repurchase them again.

It seems we now will probably never get the unreleased TTWII footage that we know exists. If it doesnt come on a release like this, it will never come. I actually do not see the point in this rlease. Who is it targeted for? This will be largely ignored except for the completists. FTD material being re-released on a mainstream release? Sort of like a slap in the face to the loyal Elvis fans who have supported everything thrown at them to have to buy this very expensive package for a few unreleased shows which are probably very similar to the other shows. And no doubt about it, thats who will buy this. The completists. Will this even get a second look from Joe Public? Doubtful. They didnt care much in 2000 for the 30th. The hopes for a great anniversary package (especially DVD wise) have vanished.

It is
even those ''Perfect'' Elvis 20 cd box sets where cheaper.. I don't see why a 10 disc boxset should cost 2/3 times that price!.

I'm not planning to spend an unconfirmed amount of money on an unconfirmed 8-CD set that might or might not include some August 1970 concert recordings, some of which I might or might not already have, and some of which might or might not be remixed... :)

I got them too... But not in the forthcoming quality.

I loved the 2001 version but it wasn't complete, now hopefully we will have most, if not everything from the acclaimed concerts...

We don't know the tracklisting, maybe there will be a few suprises for us hopeless hardcore completists.
but if it is not, forget it. I'm more looking forward to the new ultimate elvis books than this.

I am not sure you will see a rare chestnut here unless there is a song we dont know about. The 1970 shows were great, but they were also very much alike. Ive heard enough now to satisfy me forever. Unless something like Bad Moon Rising is on the track list, they will not get any of my hard earned money. Not for this price. Now unseen footage would be another story. I though perhaps this was our shot at it. Sadly, it is not to be.

I haven't lost my passion, but I'm not stupid either!

Between the two ftds and the special edition released previously, I've already laid out over $100 for more than half of this material.

And I've been around the Elvis world long enough to know that if there is anything unique to this set, it will show up somewhere else down the line.

If this release is as stated--I'll pass.

It is not confirmed, in fact, there are good sources that indicate that it is a major typo on their part, or whoever posted this information either intentionally or was badly misled by other sources.

There won't be an 8 Disc box. Mark my word. It will be a 2 Disc Legacy set with previously released material. Don't get too excited folks. :facep: :facep:
