What is your favorite post VLV movie title track?

For me it's Frankie and Johnny. It's the one attempt that Elvis made at the Bobby Darin style of using rock n roll phrasing within a jazz/swing arrangement. The early take on Out in Hollywood (IIRC) shows him doing this extremely well, but he seemed to get self-conscious and toned it down for the master, which is a shame. Even so, just for the outtake alone it's a favourite - and another glimpse into what could have been if Elvis had done that album of standards.

I always liked the tracks Easy Come, Easy Go and Double Trouble. They are solid Elvis movie title tracks. Charro is excellent and is in a class by itself.

I think the success of Speedway was partly because of Nancy Sinatra, and also because it actually seemed current for once - it feels like a film of the swinging sixties in its mad-cap antics, sets etc.

Indeed another parallel to pop-art and the "Batman" phenomenon is the set design of "Speedway," which in several scenes looks like Batman and Robin could pop out at any given second.

Parker figured out by the mid-60s that the lower the budget, the more money he made.

No, Speedway was an exception. Like Greystoke wrote, MGM invested 3 milion $ in it but the net profit was only around 50.000 $.

Who doesn't love a bit of Shaky, except maybe a few miserable philistines. My vote went to PHS, that one vote it received, is mine.

Elvis was in very good voice on the PHS soundtrack, This is my Heaven is sublime, with a truly plaintive and unaffected vocal from the King. Just beautiful:
