Re: Elvis Destination USA New FTD
Can anyone piece together the various Don Lance rehearsals from August, 1972? In particular, the August 2 and 3, 1972 rehearsals. I believe we got the August 4 rehearsal pretty much in tact on "3000 South Paradise Road." We got a few tracks from both August 2 and 3 on "Stage Rehearsal."

Re: Elvis Destination USA New FTD
Seems like a very nice package (altohugh I wish we got a previously unreleased show instead). The cover looks good too. Any chance that it's a picture taken by a British fans at the September 4, 1972 Dinner Show?

Yeah, there's a fan "presentation" at the DS, they wouldn't have done it again to Elvis at the CS?hm80ep wrote:To honour all the fans worldwide who special traveled to see Elvis Live in 1972,especially the 200 British Elvis fans for whom Elvis gave this special show on september 4, 1972The 200 British fans weren't there for the CS?voldto wrote:damn, why wasnt it the 4 CS instead??

Cool looking release. A previously unreleased soundboard would have made it even better.

Re: Elvis Destination USA New FTD
Im guessing this is a Reel-To-Reel tape
because.. Can't Help Falling In Love runs only 2:13 here
on ''A Hilton Double Shot'' from Madison this has a full minute running closing vamp.
so its a different source!

Re: Elvis Destination USA New FTD
You know this is as good a release as i could have hoped for.... i said last week if they did a 2nd disc with more unreleased August rehearsals on it -then i would certainly buy this release and i am.Also they must have paid the royalties as the J.D.&Stamps solo number is on the disc too. It will be super cool to hear more rehearsals of steamroller, i'm leavin +the wonder of you and something all from 1972 cool release indeed and i will pre-order this very soon indeed!~ great way of bringing us something new and possably a better sounding concert we had than b4. Plus more unheard outakes from Feb 15/16th 1972 as well -GREAT!~i give this a big THUMBS UP-Thanks in advance Ernst~!
p.s the FTD art-work looks vastly superior to the mock-ups on this thread last week-classy looks indeed~!

Re: Elvis Destination USA New FTD
It's interesting for me today reading the 2009 reviews of the Madison & learning that JD deliberately messes around with his OWN song here, so was JD actually enjoying all the Amen dive-bombing after all, not just following the instructions of his boss!Johnny2523 wrote:YDKM is gonna love it.. Disk 1 is Soundboard possible reel to reelskatterbrane wrote:Is disc 1 a soundboard or a multi-track?
The February 1972 songs are multitrack
I think , from the rehearsals is You Dont Have To say You Love Me (1972) is missing.

Re: Elvis Destination USA New FTD
Maybe I'm being naive but I guess it doesn't feature the closing show because maybe they don't have it. Now we have the. Early and late summer 72 session very well represented on FTD
