Without the introductions it does. it wouldnt be the first time Sony edits something.

Anyway I still think it's a better idea to pair concerts by same time frame than same location.

Nor does it fit on an official release

The Memphis 1976 release must never be officially released on a mainstream issue. Memphis 75 deserves an airing though.

Either on FTD or in a boxset together with the 74 and 1975 concert.

Yeah, with the other Memphis '74 soundboards. Cool!

But not the multitrack yet again...

How about March 17 1974 (only 2 tracks released on 48 hours on memphis as bonus) + June 10 1975 + July 5 1976

I'd buy it!

The Memphis concerts from 1974, 1975, and 1976 would make a nice collection for some, I suspect. IMHO, the 1976 concert does not have the energy level, excitement, or vocal power of the '74 and 75 concerts. A friend played it for me (7/5/76) and Elvis sounds really good on some numbers and almost tired on others. It is "exciting" because it is a long show, it's in Memphis, and Elvis does a good, albeit too short, version of That's All Right (it's too bad he didn't strap on his guitar and do a number of his early Sun recordings at this show-----would have made a nice set in the middle of the show). The inclusion of "Softly...." was a nice addition. There are some other really solid performances in the 76 Memphis show. But overall, it's an OK show, but isn't in the same league as the 75 show or the 74 Memphis shows. I hardly think it will ever be released for the general public.

FTD has yet to venture into the box set market, so if and when they do, let's hope a set of '74/'75 concerts is far down the list of priorities.

Does anyone what disc 1 is going to be:

a) New 2014 remix of 1974 concert
b) The circa 2004 remix published on FTD
c) The original 1974 album mix with songs not on the original album edited into the sequence

Earlier in this thread member Rock Legend has revealed that according to Ken Sharp (who wrote the liner notes) disc 1 featues a new mix. It is not known yet who prepared the new mix.

Monk, I think a set of that nature for the mass market would be redundant.

Here's my idea for a mass-market release of the '74 Memphis show. CD 1: The original album with the 8 songs edited out included as bonus songs. all with a new mix. CD 2: A soundboard of one of the other '74 Memphis shows, with bonus songs from the other shows.

Yes, we need all the 76/77 shows before we even talk about a 1975 concert.

It was also said that DISC 2 contains a "previously unreleased" concert because apparently anything released by FTD doesn't count, so maybe the "new mix" is "new-for-those-who-don't-have-the-old-FTD-release" new.

This release fits the same package format as PFAP but as I understand it it's a normal sized CD release...

Naw, we're so jaded and cynical now, nothing could please us, particularly any release of material by that 10,000 pound beast known as the 70's Elvis.

Come on, Elvis was never THAT heavy in the '70s.

The JPC site mentions this release coming out on March 14 instead of march 18.
''Articles have not been produced yet, probable delivery date is 14.03.2014.You can order the title now. It will be dispatched to you as soon as it is available.''
