hope so as well...but you gotta figure if the film does good business in the first 4 weeks of release that would be the time to cash in and the reality is under most circumstances a pre-order would be available at least a month in advance so we are at July 15 already and nothing??

No , I said it included non Elvis tracks….there are some Elvis songs on it but whether they are originals or revamped versions, I have no idea.

No , I said it included non Elvis tracks….there are some Elvis songs on it but whether they are originals or revamped versions, I have no idea.

90 songs for less than £5 and it’s bound to generate some sales. But you should be looking at the U.K. chart if you want anything meaningful for charts sales/stats - the Scottish chart is almost a subsidiary and sales are likely to be a couple of hundred at the most - nothing to get too excited about.

I’m not really sure what that chart tells us or reveals anything meaningful - 6 places above is Saturday Night Fever and then included in that chart are an assortment of albums that go back decades and have already sold very well - Grease, Help, Top Gun etc. and Saturday Night Fever again.

Maybe it is telling that the old soundtracks still selling good enough to be high in that charts. It is like the Billboard 200 album Chart there is just to name one album now at number 60 Bob Marley And The Wailers Legend: The Best Of... now for 734 weeks on that charts. So it still finds enough people who wants that album. So it could be that enough people still want to own a new copy of the old soundtracks?

The point is that all of those albums I mentioned are not in the Billboard 200 chart because their sales are simply not enough to get in that chart. These days, you can get into the bottom end of BB200 with sales of around 1000 copies - Saturday Night Fever is several places higher than "Elvis" yet SNF is not in the BB200 chart, which suggest SNF has sold less than 1000 copies, which further suggests that the "Elvis" album has sold even less, making the sales insignificant at the moment.

Now obviously the Elvis Soundtrack won’t have physical sales as it is not released yet, but I cannot even find the album listed on the Amazon site for pre-orders, so how has that chart been created? What has placed that album in that position? Or is it Amazon playing the hype game to attract sales?
