Elvis UK sales and world

Now obviously the Elvis Soundtrack won’t have physical sales as it is not released yet, but I cannot even find the album listed on the Amazon site for pre-orders, so how has that chart been created? What has placed that album in that position? Or is it Amazon playing the hype game to attract sales?

But not the CD….just the mp3 download and that in itself seems strange that’s there is a one month delay until the CD arrives.
But whatever, it still makes the whole thing questionable as to the merit of Jaime1234 posting the info from that Amazon chart especially if you put it into context with the SNF album from over 40 years ago. That album has already sold over 17 million in the US, and with that album being placed higher on that Amazon chart and in vinyl format, suggests that it is doing even better business. As I alluded to, it’s the Billboard 200 chart which will mark the success of the Elvis Soundtrack album so best not to get carried away with apparent achievement from some kind of Amazon chart which in itself seems questionable.

It is the CD and it will ship July 29, 2022.

Then their site must have a communication problem with my iPad and laptop because when I search for it, the only thing that comes up is the mp3 version released this Friday, and for the CD variant it states they do not have it are are trying to get it, which is often Amazon speak when they do not have a firm release date for a pre-order thing. But hey ho and regardless, it is still strange there is a one month gap between the download and the CD and the Amazon chart is basically irrelevant at this moment in time with what else is included in it.

Interestingly, our main Radio station BBC played Trouble this morning and my wife was not that impressed. She said the singer sounded like they were trying to hard. I think someone else on here suggested it sounded like an impersonator impersonating and Elvis impersonator. Shame they did not play Butler’s version of That’s All Right which sounds so much like a young Elvis, it could almost be an outtake of the song.

For whatever it's worth: It's always nice to see Elvis' name up there!

I just ran through the snippets of the soundtrack album on I-tunes. I'm gonna download it. But, at this point I only care for the mixes where Elvis' voice is within! After all....

I just downloaded the soundtrack album. And, I must dig to admit that this is something special! Credit to those creative producers of making Elvis' music shining once again!

I am enjoying this soundtrack. I like the different spin on Presley’s music. My teenage son likes it and finds it cool. I believe it is a smart approach that they have taken for the generation today.

But as others have already said, what are these people who are apparently turned on by the revamped music going to do when they start looking at the catalogue in depth, if they do of course. They’ll wonder what’s going on when they hit the 60s stuff, especially the soundtracks, which, from what I understand, was basically glossed over in the movie. I cannot imagine anyone listening Western Union (Clickety Clack) will get cool vibes. Even one of the higher ups at Warner’s said Elvis music sounded dated, hence the reason for the reworks.
I guess when the Mona Lisa fails to attract a younger audience that they’ll produce another one where she is wearing nose piercings and have tats around the neck. Or maybe they’ll just leave as is because it’s part of history and how Leonardo da Vinci painted it.

This project isn’t for the generation to grab onto and follow. It isn’t about that. Consider it a one night stand! Lol!! Let the generation deal with the Presley catalog the way they see fit. They will take what is good and leave the bad. They will have a little more respect for the artist though, that’s for sure. It’s about awareness, cultural significance and historical respect.

I'm just scanning the RIAA database! And it really is amazing to see all those "hits compilations" "christmas compilations" "gospel compilations" ...running gold, platinum over and over. Under only a new cover!? And that is for the US only, according to RIAA!
No wonder Elvis must have covered some ground with his output! Add the rest of the world and it is hard not to figure how many vinyls, cd's and now streamings must have found the way out there!

Does someone know how far ELV1S: 30 No. 1 Hits album is from getting the next RIAA Platinum award?
