Who cares about what the Beatles thought of Elvis?!
I noticed that a lot of so called Elvis fans are all wound up about what Elvis thought about the beatles, or visversa.
The answer to the 1st questions is: Elvis thought the Beatles were subversive and I agree!
The answer to the 2nd question should not matter a bit amongst Elvis Fans.
Who cares what those Beatles-Shetles thought about the greatest entertainer of all times, a Man who changed the Culture of his time up until today by himself.
My point, Elvis fans should not care what the beatles or anybody else said about him, Elvis, his Music, his performance can stand on its own, no need for approval from second rate guys like the beatles and yeah they are second rate, because only Elvis is number one, ergo everybody else except God is second our hero.
Sure some may not feel the same way, but in that case you are not really an Elvis fan, are you?

Re: Who cares about what the Beatles thought of Elvis?!
I dont care for the beatles at all.....never have.
But must admit that Lennon/McCartney were great songwriters.
Even Harrison wrote some great songs.
However I switch channel in most cases when they are on the radio........

Re: Who cares about what the Beatles thought of Elvis?!
Yeah, "great" songwriters amongst many other really great somgwriters, Elvis was no songwriter, ergo no overlaps of trade, ergo no need to compare aples with oranges.LSP-4445 wrote:I dont care for the beatles at all.....never have.

I also switch channels, I cant stand those arrogant mooks, or beatles-twatles-buttles , so I am glad you are on the same page here with me.
One of the undead/zombi remainders of the drug quartett (Paul McFarty) mentioned something about Elvis somewhere backstage and some Elvis Fans almost peed their panties hearing about it, I find this pathetic, as if Elvis needs any sort of knightly accolade from that senile dead beat!

Re: Who cares about what the Beatles thought of Elvis?!
I already mentioned a few times in the past that it didn't matter what the Beatles thought about Elvis.
They were entitled to their opinions about him and that you don't have to agree with them.
They are even discussed too much on this board in my opinion.
So thanks for contributing to that Big bird.

I wonder if Beatles sites have as many posts about Elvis?
Re: Who cares about what the Beatles thought of Elvis?!
I rarely visit those sites but I know Beatles fans and they really think The Beatles are the one and only. I did see on one site...."Elvis was just the warm up act for the beatles...."HoneyTalkNelson wrote:I wonder if Beatles sites have as many posts about Elvis?
Which is fine of course...each to their own ...but I would not want to go to a monthly Beatles do and listen to their pop songs all night......it has to be rock n roll for me...and with a handful of exceptions they really could not do rock n roll....the first boy band did pop best.

that's why Elvis begged them to visit him in the mid 60s.pingpong wrote:I rarely visit those sites but I know Beatles fans and they really think The Beatles are the one and only. Re: Who cares about what the Beatles thought of Elvis?!
It just seems to me that certain members here go out of their way to either post Beatle-related threads or sing their praises every chance they get.
I hope they do the same on the Beatle sites in promoting Elvis, both with respect to his legacy and all the new releases.

Re: Who cares about what the Beatles thought of Elvis?!
no. just interesting that alot of Elvis fans on Elvis forums speak with respect of the Beatles....but somehow I have the impression that the Beatles-fans don't do that necessarily when it comes to Elvis.BigBird wrote:... and that exactly should not matter!matilda wrote:Do Not Know....but I wonder if Beatles fans there speak with respect of Elvis.HoneyTalkNelson wrote:I wonder if Beatles sites have as many posts about Elvis?
it's funny....and surely arrogant ...but in the end....I don't loose sleep over it.
Re: Who cares about what the Beatles thought of Elvis?!
well they slag him off and put him down every opportunity they get on this Elvis site so I would not hold out too much hope for the Beatles sites !!!HoneyTalkNelson wrote:It just seems to me that certain members here go out of their way to either post Beatle-related threads or sing their praises every chance they get.

Re: Who cares about what the Beatles thought of Elvis?!
Is this a joke, or do you really believe that Elvis begged them to visit him?matilda wrote:that's why Elvis begged them to visit him in the mid 60s.pingpong wrote:I rarely visit those sites but I know Beatles fans and they really think The Beatles are the one and only. I recall reading about Elvis was ready to go to bed and leave the 4 slags dumb found sitting by themselfs after the 4 mooks keept starring at him without saying a word, due to his overpowering charisma, which they had a total lack of.
Re: Who cares about what the Beatles thought of Elvis?!
That seems to be the new spin on this.
A good friend is a life-long Beatle fan. He mentioned recently that many fans believe it was Elvis that wanted the visit and the guys went along with it.
Yeah, sure.

Re: Who cares about what the Beatles thought of Elvis?!
well, I merely repeated what an expert about the Beatles said....and since I have not read all Beatles books....of course, i blindly believe that posted fact that Elvis requested their visit.BigBird wrote:Is this a joke, or do you really believe that Elvis begged them to visit him?matilda wrote:that's why Elvis begged them to visit him in the mid 60s.pingpong wrote:I rarely visit those sites but I know Beatles fans and they really think The Beatles are the one and only. and maybe he only had the flu the next day when he declined the offer to visit the Beatles at their home

You absolutely correct about what you are saying, the sure go out of their way to praise the beatles around here and i can also explain why that is done.
Its called information dominance and in order to apply that IO, one must first have a foot in the door of the target.
I am not trying to make it too complicated, in broad strokes, you infiltrate a ceratin group and introduce idea contrary to their believes, of course you go by the frog methode.
The frog methode is to heat up the water slowly so the frog would not jump out of the water, which he would do if you would put him in boiling water right away, but if you heat it up gradually, the frog will keep sitting in it until he dead, cooked and ready to be eaten.
Spound like conspiracy theroy, maybe, but if it is not true what i am saying, why do ppl waste or their energy to convert Elvis Fans into beatles Fans???
