Unpopular opinions

Sun Jun 23, 2013 7:26 am

ok..since this is the cool new hip thing to do on message forums (since I see these on most of them nowadays) I decided to start an Elvis:unpopular opinions thread, for those who don't know basically what opinions do you have about Elvis that are unpopular by most? well post them here.

I like to quote Jerry Hopkins opinion about The Colonel: "He was so brilliant like a Manager's manager, the best of all."

Elvis never performed, or looked better in 1977 - therefor "Elvis In Concert" aka "The CBS Special" deserves a Blu ray release.

Whats not popular about this opinion?

BTW do you have a photo of her without a wig?
(probably also very unpopular for me to ask that, but this seams to be the right thread)

I love "Danny Boy" from 1976, studio master?

Sorta unpopular. But I really do.

Oh. Here's one: "Poison Ivy League" is a cool song.
(Although not sung as well as I'd like.)

EVERYTHING!

BTW It's not a wig, it's her real hair with a color treatment.

I am sorry but it is not her real hair, unless you mean she bought it and therefore she owns it!

I am married to a black woman for 11 years and i also know (I mean full carnal knowledge) many other black women and they ALL wore/wear wigs!

btw. here is a photo which kind of proofs the wig thing:

and here is another one:

I know it is hard to digest in this PC day and age, but ppl with a high percentage of african genetics dont grow thick and long hair on their heads as most whites and asians do, i am also aware that this is a touchy subject, BUT it is the truth.

I find it funny, whites like to tanned themselfs in a tanning both, to look a little browner, asians get eye surgery to make their eyes look rounder and blacks wear wigs to imitate white hair, all that shows that we as humans always looking at the other side. As the saying goes; "...the grass is always greener on the other side."

I find that behaviour very interesting and the wig busines is funny to me, everybody (in the black community) knows its always wigs, but nobody admitts it, however I think they all should lighten up a bit on that topic, after all it is just some fake hair slapped on the head and not a heart transplant.

Sorry my friend but you are wrong, it is her real hair . She keeps it permed (straightened ) most of time and has been in many magazines regarding this. Does she wear an actual wig - No. Does have weaves in some instances -Yes. Black women can grow long hair and have it permed and colored without the fro look . I've been with a black woman for 8 years, and her hair is straight, and almost waist length. You cannot compare your wife to an entire race of women. There are different genetic properties within races. What pertains to your wife does not mean she is genetically identical to all black women. The girl in my avatar has a white grandfather and many other mixes in her family tree, including Indian, and Asian, and that alone make your statement above totally reticule.

How many black women do you personally know, besides your girlfriend? I mean personally, like inside out, literally? I am not only talking about my wife, but about many black girls i know and yes i know they use relaxer to straighten their hair, btw. a very toxic chemical, the result you can see on the photos of Ms. Campell.
The combination of relaxer and dye is DEADLY! ... especially once sombody has genetically not the strongest hair in the first place.
BTW my wife is also in that constant denial, she tells me she can grow her hair as long as she wants to, but it is JUST NOT TRUE, it barely grows to should lenght and thats it.
But the black girls do a great jkob of weaving their own hair into the wig, so it is almost impossible to know they wear wigs, unless of course you get close enough, if you know what i mean.

However, that was actually not my point, my point was that white get tanned, blacks imitate white type of hair / hairstyles, or asians get eye surgeries, to get closer to the other races, or to some sort of ideal type of human if you will, like a multi ethnic type.

What does that have to do with Elvis, well let me wrap it up for you. Elvis features are somwhat universal, he looks not too white for a black, or asian perspective, while he looks exotic enough from a white perspective, after all he had native american blood form both parents and I wonder if there is maybe some Creole blood in there too, after all his Mothers family stems from the New Orleans area I have heard.

So I hope that clears it all up.

Re: Unpopular opinions

I like the song "Sylvia." It's one of my guilty pleasures. I think Elvis' voice sounds nice. Super cheesy but I still like it.

Oh, and I think Elvis was probably a racist in the way that Paula Deen is a racist or the way my grandparents on the white side of my family were racist. (My grandfather was from Arkansas and my grandmother was from Texas.) I'm not talking about KKK-style racism; I'm talking about the type of people who think its OK to throw around a racial epithet every now and then. Even Billy Smith said that "Elvis was southern, and so he joked sometimes."

There's two very unpopular opinions!

The "Memphis Mafia" members felt it was important that they be employed be Elvis for the rest of their lives, so that they might continue in their efforts to unsuccessfully help him to withdraw from various 'medications'.

Well according to your definition of racism, 99% of all humanbeings ARE RACISTS.

Its a human trade to sort out between ME the THEM. there is an arab saying, it goes something like that:

"me against my brother, .... my brother and me against my father .... me, my brother, my father against my uncle .................. sunni muslims against shiite muslims ....... muslims against none-muslims ....... and so on and so forth".

thats just how it is, although I do not agree with that arab saying, I do in fact embrace induvidualism and making differences between ppl, we are all unique, we are not one big lump of soulless lemmings and no mater how many types of socialists, maybe they be national, or international socialist, or any other collectivist group of thugs try to create the NEW HUMANBEING, it wont ever work, discrimination (which simply means; decern one from the other) is in our genetic code, in fact it is a good thing as long as everybody adhers to some simple ground rules, such as written in the US constitution for example.

You are probably right.

The thing is, it should not matter what opinions could possibly upset somebody, cause that would kill any debate in the first place, it only should matter if somebody is personally insulted, so i hope the moderators adhere to their own rules and let opinions be what they are, opinions.

You kow the saying about opinions, dont you?

"... opinions are like a++holes, everybody has one."
