Good to see you're only looking out for yourself.

Fans should hang up the "collector" hat once in a while and allow some compassion to seep into their cold hearts once in a while. 1977 no doubt conjures up a lot of memories for Lisa Marie--I wonder what fans would say to her to convince her to green light an EIC release?

This topic is way to complex for that simple answer.

I won't take the time either, with a non-fan, to explain it to you.

I am a fan thru and thru, not some psuedo critic that only likes what everyone else likes.

Get over yourself.

Frankly - it would be tough to best what was accomplished by the "Final Curtain" rendering of the actual TV special.

Clean, 1080 video and 5.1 surround for both Rapid City and Omaha would be nice to have too I guess.

I've always thought it was somehow ironic that EPE sells all of that gaudy crap in their giftshops at Graceland, but won't release EIC and a host of other video footage (Hawaii 1961, MSG, etc.)

It's 800 miles from my house to Graceland, but I'm always up for making the trip!

We can't get the footage from 1970, yet people want this? All it did was cause shock and distress when it first aired; I remember it well. I had seen photos, sure, up to that point, that looked troublesome, but I thought he gained some weight. That had been an issue during the last years anyway.

Nothing, but nothing prepared me for what I saw! It is not a happy memory.

But I also remember seeing TTWII the first time on TV a couple years earlier, and that IS a happy memory! And there is so much more great footage! Why would people want to see him in such a poor condition? I do not get it. It never should have been made in the first place.

That's my last word on that.

While I appreciate every era of Elvis, I agree Robyn. I would far rather have the hours upon hours of TTWII footage & 40+ hours of Elvis On Tour footage released officially in perfect quality first.

That is one question that EIC supporters can't really answer. " stop ignoring history" is their favorite reason but even that is very weak.

The audio from Elvis In Concert edited and remixed would be nice! (Remove all those silly fan comments!) I really don't need to watch Elvis in the state he was in! :)

Oh heck, release it, but please hide it on the shelves of all stores. Consumers would then have to ask the store clerk for it privately! Wouldnt want that sun dial image causing gasps and chuckles all day long.

Yes but not until after TTWII.Also Blu ray is wasted on Suround Sound. The original tapes nedd to be worked on to isolate the audio channels to give genuine Multi Channel sound. That is far superior to crummy surround sound.

Rick Schmidlin Cheaped out on the sound to that TTWII SE back in early 0's.

The public know they are smart.

If you are going to do such a project, dont bother unless you do it right.

Other artists have lavish releases with HD MA Multi channel sound, etc

TTWII needs camera angle switching abillity and all the rest.

The Lost Performances laserdisc sounded gteat and sold well.

Again the Market isnt stupid and projecs will fail if the projects have soled us short on quality with things like crappy Surround Sound, etc On Tour missing content , Suround Sound, no updated pic or sound and just overall poor product.

As an Elvis fan do noy try to sell me this cr $ p when other artists have marvelous quality releases with updated sound and pic etc.

G'day to yoi y'all

While I don't support the idea of an official EIC dvd release, people continue to forget dozens of clips are available on social media.
Quickly adding up the # of views probably hits 50 million or so.
An official dvd will likely sell 0.4% of that number. Again, 0.4%. One more time.. 0.4%;)

In other words, such a release will be less impactful than assumed by many.
Fat ETA's, several published books, and Elvis singing 'Yoga is as Yoga does' are more damaging to his image.

With respect (You Elvis fans are the best)

I am tired of the constant guess work regardng sales, its like thy have measured a release beore it has a chance and gound it wanting on sales.

Truth is that no one knows and itis not black and white.

It is obvious that they continue to fail to see thr elephant in the room in al this.

The elephant being Quality..... simple.... a quality product with correct marketing, with updated sound and pic etc...

Will sell

But they continue to release crappy low quality products nothing done to the pic or sound.... no greakin bass channel thin sound etc

This is what they are basing their low projected sales figures on.

We just need a TTWII with everything on it with switchable camera angles updated sound and pic etc.

Or better still a standslone rehearsal release.

Sadly, I could see this being released. For some reason, the mainstream releases have been from boring periods in his career lately. The past year was boring (orchestra, jungle room, elvis today)

I want SUN, 69 Memphis, unreleased TTWII video and On Tour. Make Elvis exciting again in the public eye!

Not that this is exciting, but, I also want Blue Hawaii on Blu Ray.

I think the interest has passed. Elvis had his revival a few years back, it's over.
FTD would have been the place for the release but years ago.

Would I like to see it released?
No.

Would I buy it?
I think so.

You break myheart reading your post.

It is not over, if it was no one wouldbuy those number one albums of late

Guess what, they buy those albums because they are quality and they like them

plus the live shows sold out.

it is not over, no freakin way is it over.

It is ove for tge BEATLES fans here (they wish)

It is not over , it is over for crappy liw qualitt release.

Quality product of Elvis will sell.

Guess whatvpeople have good hi fi and audio visual equipment and 4k tv and blu rsy.

Guess what that recent On Tou Blu ray is an insult.

Such poor quality as was the TTWII dvd and Blu ray.

Word got around these were found out fast then sales were a joke because they were a joke equipment just reveal their low quality.

A high quality release will shine on the latest equipment.

It is not over

ELVIS is breaking records on this planet and his success in tge 0's is astounding.

If I design a car and it is a pile of crap and it wont sell. Dont blame Elvis for the low quality visual releases not selling.

Nothing waa done to make themsell.

Thanks for the thread revival. FWIW, a Blu-ray release in 5.1 surround sound of a 1977 videotaped TV special simply isn't going to happen. And not just because it contains the worst-ever, official live footage of the star.
