I wouldn't call it "awesome" but at least it sounds interesting. Boy, now I finally realized what a stinker to me this really is (sorry to all "My Boy" fans here, no offense taken).
It's never been a favourite of mine, I rather listened to some of his stupid movie songs than this one.
Mike, do you have a leveler on your audio system? Unfortunately your original rip is clipped but hey, again I'm thankful for your interesting uploads.
I tried to clean it up by using ClickRepair, converting it to real Mono, adding a little puncher to it (okay, that's digital) and speed correct it (as usual) by about two-and-a-half percent.
Elvis Presley - My Boy (Mono).wav

Interesting fact: the fade-out runs about a second longer than on the recent remaster!![]()

Enjoy!
P. S.: Mike, is there a possibility you also could upload "The Next Step Is Love" in mono? But please beware of the clipping (like on "I've Lost You"). Thanks in advance!

It takes an IDIOT like mysterytrainrideson to think Sun 209 would fall under this topic after reading 2 pages of My Boy , what an IDIOT!

I decided to leave it as a stereo file, because when I converted it to a mono file it sounded rather sh*tty (like a worn tape).
And ass a special bonus: here's the glorious A-Side "Kentucky Rain", too - sorry for the clipping, the recording is so loud and the bass so powerful and I didn't adjust my leveler correctly - that's probably why I rejected the rip in the first place but didn't feel like ripping it again yet:
Kentucky Rain (Mono).wav (File size: 35 MB)

And "Kentucky Rain" as a mono convert - strangely enough this didn't sound as bad as the B-Side (and I slightly lowered the volume on that one):

I apologise for sounding rude, but my comment was only as a joke not a personal dig at you. I could have worded it a bit better.... But My Boy is still rubbish though. I've only just got around to reading this thread. When i saw the title of this thread i thought "Sun 209" i started from page 1 worked my way down and just commented on luckyjackson 1's post. No offence honest.

I'm kind of confused With "My Little Friend" you have uploaded as to what you said "leave it as a stereo file" but the upload is mono? Did you just do a mono fold down from stereo, or is this the original mono 45rpm rip?

Sorry my friend, I don´t like the samples you posted, they sound to me lifeless. My sample of My Little Friend I just posted for promiseland sound much fuller and punchier to me. By the way, My Little Friend included on the "Almost In Love" LP is in Stereo. Thanks anyway

Hey Mike, "that's all right". Those tracks were taken from my "Gold Standard Series" 45RPM. They've probably used different tapes for this.
If you'd like to, I can do a "clean-up" of your "My Little Friend" rip also.
No complaints but is there a way you can leave the endings a little longer? They're very short cut at the end. Thanks in advance!
BTW, is there a way you can adjust the speed on your turntable? It seems as every rip runs about three-and-a-half percent too fast compared to the "Complete Masters" versions. Just askin'...

ok im biased because when i was 1 yr's old & my mom & dad we're divorcing my dad used to play this to me/us !
elvis clearly loved it & for once in the mid 70's he clearly put all his passion (if not heart & soul) into it -
if you really love & respect the guy like i believe most of us do then why do you not respect the fact that HE thought a lot of it
and gave it sufficient respect!
maybe in 2013 elvis himself wouldnt care for it but at the time he clearly did ! respect that!
it doesnt make you kool or a big man to piss all over a song he loved & u supposedly hate

Hmmm... how can I put it right... wasn't sure if I found the correct word to describe it. The recording sounds a little strange. When you have a record that's been pressed incorrect it kinda sounds weird. Don't know if "warped" is the correct word for it. Maybe somebody else could help out on this behalf?
That's fine with me if you post the next uploads on the Mono topic. Thanks, Mike!
