I know Elvis was a star we all see different sides to, and he's probably so far detached from anyone of us, there's no real 'connection'. However, having seen Elvis in person so many times, watching his films, and listening constantly to his music, I felt closer to him than many friends I have had over the years. I got to see him up close, shake his hand, and marvel at his musical gifts. He was someone I was always happy to see (even though he didn't look as good as he could -- or did), however, the same comment can be said of a number of my extended family as the years go by, too.

To remark on the passing of anyone in the above matter is disgraceful. I am still saddened to think about all the concerts and music I could have witnessed and heard since that terrible news broke. What would Lisa think?

Agree and let's just ignore such an ignorant 'joke' and move on with the topic.

What is the longest 'tour' show?
Pittsburgh?

I don't think so. But I guess the difference between me and many other members of this forum is the fact, that I am not a fan of the person Elvis Aron Presley. :sosorry:

Meant that I bet Jackson has/had the tapes from this particular engagement.

You lucky son-of-a...you shook ELVIS' HAND! I wish I could say that. Man, I was born in the wrong era!! Anyway, I agree. Very disrespectful. I wish I could have seen Elvis in person. But, thankfully - I have the memories of Elvis The Concert 35th Anniversary 2012, Graceland, and tons of shows to listen to. I too, listen constantly to his music.

I was thiiiiiiiis close to Lisa Marie when she was signing autographs that Friday in front of the Elvis Radio station across the street from Graceland (sticks out arm). I wasn't able to get an autograph because I just missed her passing in front of the fans at the gate, but I was that close!

The Longest tour shows were probably Pittsburgh and Memphis in 1976.

The shortest shows were Probably Seattle 1970 and one of the early January 1971 shows. Both were around 30 to 35 min.

But I certainly perfer a short and good show to a long and boring one.

Re: Longest Concert?

I prefer the very long and very boring ones. I love to drift off during an Olivia Newton John cover, wake up again and it's the intros, doze off again and come alive again during the Mickey Mouse Club March. And so forth and so on.

A singer you dont like? Still not sure why you are here, you seem to be a Tom Parker fan, how many message boards are dedicated to him?
