We're Gonna Move would've been a great song to use during his playing the guitar segments w/ Charlie holding the mic during the 76-77 period, along with Stay Away Joe. Maybe even have Charlie put on an Indian feather head band and dance around during the solos  .

It may have been substandard compared to his other 50's output, but listen to that vocal. He is engaged, enthused and makes the song come alive. Now compare that to the Raised On Rock album and others from the 70's where the song is just boring.

How about song like "Tutti Frutti"? Ridiculous lyrics and Elvis' rendition is dreadful IMO... but the same song as done by it's creator, Little Richard, was a 1955 classic!!

In my dream last night, apart from a pack of wild foxes on leashes (which they didn't like!!!) that really liked to bite!!!!, I dreamt that Elvis was recording Feelings, or his recording of it was playing, and he was in the dream!! 8)

I can imagine a poor country boy singing the song (Elvis in "Love Me Tender") but not a flamboyant, jumpstuit-clad superstar. Unless it would have been a refernece to some of the not-so-spectacula venues and arenas Elvis performed at thru the '70s.

Well there's a leak in this old building
Yes, there's a leak in this old building
Well there's a leak in this old building
We're gonna move to a better home

Well there's a hole in the roof where the rain pours in

A hole in the floor where it drops right out again
Well there's a leak in this old building
Well there's a leak in this old building
Well there's a leak in this old building
We're gonna move to a better home

Well there's a crack across the ceiling
Yes there's a crack across the ceiling
Well there's a crack across the ceiling
We're gonna find us a better home

Little Darlin' wasn't a super serious song either, and in fact was kind of silly in it's own right, and if there ever happened to be a leak in the roof of the building that Elvis was playing, then We're gonna move would have been a perfect song choice! :smt020

at the houston astrodome? hehe

I was trying to think of any buildings that might have actually leaked! And when I said that Little Darlin' was "kind of silly in it's own right", I of course was being facetious, as you shouldn't joke about such a deep and serious song, it just aint' right! 8)

Do lie to us. Even if sensible gun control became law, you would have an arsenal under your bed. ;-)
