Want to put together an album showcasing Elvis' outstanding voice. Not sure if to do a single or double album yet but thought I ask the fellow fans their thoughts on tracks to go on it?

Tracks that spring to mind are like:

An American Trilogy
Just Pretend
Hurt
Dont
Gave Me A Mountain
If I Can Dream
Surrender
There's Always Me
How Great Thou Art......

Whats your thoughts?

Looks like you're staying away from rock 'n' roll. And that's what he was best at singing.

Anything ThatĀ“s Part of You. ElvisĀ“ voice in those early 60s ballads was amazing.

They Remind Me Too Much Of You.. great song, would have been better if elvis sung it in the movie instead of not moving his lips while the songs plays which is looking odd..
it looks like ''I hear my voice man, but i aint doing no lipsyncing on this, im sitting here fine''

I think he was equally great at singing love songs IMO. As more recommendations come through from the guys, more rock songs are being suggested like Jailhouse and Big Hunk which I agree are vocally awesome.....this I will take on board.
I guess I WAS looking at more "powerful" songs but have been influenced by some great suggestions. At the sam time I don't want this to be a greatest hits if I can help it.

That's cool, but I'll take his greatest rock 'n' roll recordings over anything else. Then his best r&b performances, ballad performances, country performances, and so on. There are so many to choose from, we are very lucky fans indeed. At his best, he was pure magic.

Agree, but it's so loooong and repetitive... and with a running time of 5+ minutes, you can easily put other two better songs in its place.
