A double feature from Warner would be nice.

Actually this is worthy of its own thread. Best news for me today. The web site mentioned is a very good one. But King Creole is listed as Warner when it should be Paramount as is Blue Hawaii. Maybe a minor mistake.

Warner has overtaken the distribution of Paramount catalogue titles, which is good news as the release of the Paramount catalogue titles have been very slow.

That is very good news. When did that happen? Also Girls, Girls, Girls and PHS are both being re-released next week. Nothing about Blu-ray but they say AC-3. What is that, do you know?

AC-3 is a sonic format. I think they are just re-releases of the old dvds.

The Paramount/Warner deal started on January 1, 2013 and runs for the next three years.

I just added the 2 Bogart movies (all in one low priced set) to my wish list. What a deal. I have never owed either one in any format. Now I will. What they say in the Hollwood Reporter article gives me great hope that KC and BH will be on the way soon. Thanks for the info.

r&b wrote:Would folks here buy every Elvis movie all over gain if they came out on Blu-ray? I ask this because I know people that bought every VHS version (different box, cover, etc), then once DVDs came out, re-bought them all over again? Just curious. For me, it would be King Creole and TTWII only. I have Viva & EOT on Blu-ray.

I never bought VHS releases except for TTWII and EOT. I collected all the films about 5 years ago when you could pick up the DVD's for a few euros each. I watched them all once and since then they've been mostly gathering dust. I have no interest to buy them all if they come out on Blu-ray. However, there's a few films I'd pick up. TTWII, Loving You and King Creole for starters. That is if they would be restored properly. I just picked up a Marilyn Monroe blu-ray box and the 60 year old films look and sound absolutely stunning. I'll bet a film like Loving You would look and sound amazing if done properly.
