Do you know what Elvis sang at concerts in Vegas from 25.08-31.08.1970 ????

Since we have no audio proof at all...anything besides the standards....all other is speculation.

He dropped Suspicious Minds from the set list sometime during that week. It wasn't back until the following tour.

In lieu of known recordings, it is only very likely that he sang these numbers:That's All Right
I Got A Woman
I've Lost You
I Just Can't Help Believin'
You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'
Polk Salad Annie
Bridge Over Troubled Water
Can't Help Falling In Love

Indeed. Last year at one of our shows a major collector visited with us backstage and played bits and pieces of two unreleased soundboards from late in this season. I was surprised by how good the audio was, because many of the early soundboards sound a bit overloaded and shrill. Elvis was clearly enjoying himself at this stage, he was loose as a goose and there was a lot of joking going on. Let’s hope that we will all get to hear these recordings soon.

You mean these two soundboards are from late August and beginning of September of 1970? If so, that's very interesting. Thanks for sharing this info.

He told us that these recordings date from September 2, 1970, and he has both the dinner and the midnight show. You could tell from the recordings that he was a lot looser than early on in the engagement. We were just played bits and pieces, but the two things that stood out for me were Elvis' looseness and the rather good audio.

I've heard reports from England of a certain September 1970 Vegas soundboard in excellent sound on the verge of release. Those who want to keep such information private should not offer it so publically. Feeding ones ego does only that.

I don’t know if their release is imminent as you indicate. The impression I got was that maybe the two soundboard recordings would be used within two years for a box-set much like the 'Rebooked at the International' one. He was not particularly secretive about these recordings and was quite happy to play them, and there were various people present.

I am aware of just one soundboard, so thank you for the 'heads up' on the second one. The ego manic owner surely has something to offer, no doubt, and willl certainly make the balls of the Elvis world swell. He should find a way to release this material that also "feeds the horses", shall we say?!! Tickle, tickle.

I don't know about all that, but at least he is one of those collectors who is interested in sharing the rare stuff he owns with the rest of us. Not a bad thing, right?

I agree if he's prepared to share thats a good thing, for sure, and I guess its ok that despite his reasons why we get the Presley product - ultimatley. I suppose I am being old fashioned in that I like to think its being done for the fans - perhaps an ideal thats not warranted. I guess my point really was that a bunch of us know about it (an posts like this may help sales) so whats the point in talking to heaps of people yet not yet announcing it? England is sh*t miles away from Sydney!

I don’t care about the politics of it all… What I heard sounded fantastic and I’d love to be able to add it to my collection, regardless of who releases it. All I hope is that the two shows won’t be released on a huge and very expensive set where the only ‘new’ stuff is these two shows.

I agree with your comments and I do not intend to make you feel set up or publically compromised. My words are just observations on events in total. Ultimately, I hope the Elvis world hears these shows in the best sound available, no matter who releases them.

No worries, I did not read them as such.

No worries, most here completely look forward to your posts (as suck-arse as that reads)!

Thank you, that's nice of you.

Yes i know about a part of this i heard one show (cannot say the date) i even made 'notes;' on it and it was EXCELLENT Elvis in just 'superb form' i understood it is a 2014 'project' because of being too busy at present with other 'Elvis Products'
knowing what he is like i bet he will NOT be happy that even 'Rumours' about this possability are being discussed!~
