John Wilkinson Died today

JOHN WILKINSON HAS PASSED AWAY
A dark cloud hangs over the Elvis world. It is with tears in our eyes and a heavy heart that we have to let you know that our dear friend, the best friend a man can get, a fantastic musician and worldwide respected TCB member John Wilkinson has passed away at the age of 67. Our heart and prayers go out to his wife Terry and the many, many friends of John. We cannot begin to tell how much this news saddens us. The Elvis World mourns the loss of its brightest star. Johnny, dear sweet friend, we love you more than words can say. xxx. More updates on this terrible news later.

I'll play Early morning Rain over the weekend as a tribute.
John struggled with his health for some time, but what a great career and he seemed a very nice guy.
Hope he's in a better place.

John seemed to be a gentle soul. His "Early Morning Rain" bit with Elvis in concert was always a highlight.

A true gentleman.

I met him at an Essential Elvis event a few years ago and he was so kind, thanking everyone who had come to meet him personally. He was genuinely moved that so many people turned up to see him.

Awful news. John was such a good man. RIP, dear John. Thanks for the memories.

I've had the privilege to meet John, shake his hand: a wonderful, kind man with a BIG heart who also really loved and respected Elvis and remained loyal to him as a friend during and after Elvis' life.
He never did the gossip game.

I'll always remember John singing "Early Morning Rain" with the TCB band during their first reunion concert in Belgium years ago, it was very touching.
