It was her "porcelain skin" that was the game changer.

He cared a lot about Cilla and the divorce was a heavy burden for Elvis. In EWH Red and Sonny wrote for the first time how depressed Elvis became and his accelerating drug use because of the divorce.

Re: Sandy Ferra: Blames Priscilla for Elvis' demise
Oh come one! Elvis could only blame himself for his demise and not Priscilla. She didnt tell him to live the reckless lifestyle he did or take the drugs he did......he did it himself. Elvis could have changed his life and turned it around but he didnt want to because he thought he could do what he wanted, when he wanted and no one could say no to him. It's time people start blaming the one person who should be blamed for his own demise and that's Elvis himself and stop blaming everybody else. I have no love for Priscilla at all but even I cant blame her for what happened to the King......I blame Elvis and no one else. He could have changed but didnt want to plain and simple.

Would somebody like to analyse why Priscilla married Elvis after knowing him for 8 years?

A mistaken belief or perhaps self-delusion that once they were married he would leave behind his playboy antics?
It's funny how Priscilla is sometimes portrayed as a calculating character who had the upper hand in the relationship and manipulated things her way. That view seems to miss the point that he was the biggest sex symbol in the world and she was a teenager during the first few years that they were seeing each other. Instead of being suspicious of her intentions, we might more accurately ask why wouldn't she do all she could to get him? Can you imagine how many females would have wanted to swap places with her at the time?
