why are there songs from 69 and hits of the 70's ? album

I get it.
It's the same reason why they put live 1969 performances on
an album titled, "on stage--feb. 1970".
RCA or Sony or whoever never let a title get in the way of
song choices. They don't care about those restrictions.

There are many examples of this over Elvis' long career, where certain songs
did not fit into the focus of the title.

The answer is simple. It's called Hits of the 70s. If the song was recorded in 1969, but a hit in the UK in 1970, then it's a hit of the 70s. Suspicion was recorded in 1962 but a hit in the UK in the mid-70s. So that too is a hit of the 70s.

Yeah.... no. Those singles featuring new songs were released in 1970, charted in 1970, and we're hits in 1970.

What do you mean AND "hits of the '70's??? Your question doesn't make sense. And "Hits of the 70's" what??

I think "and" should be "on."
