Elvis bodyguard called Righetti?

Mon Nov 05, 2012 11:03 pm

Saw part of a TV programme about Italo-Americans on TV here, and there was an episode about a performer called Joelle Righetti, from Las Vegas.
Her dad claimed he was one of Elvis' bodyguards in Las Vegas and his wife showed a huge multiple diamond ring that Elvis gave her husband for her after he was one of the guys that got those people off the stage, the ones who wanted to try their karate skills with Elvis.
His name was given as Alessandro (Al? Alex?) Righetti.
Not finding anything on the net apart from this claim...

True story?

His daughter makes claims that may be found on the internet, but if there's any truth to them, it is probably that her father worked for the International / Hilton Hotel's security service. So he might have been one of the uniformed men who walked Elvis to and from his private elevator to the showroom stage, along with Red, Sonny, Dave, Dick, Charlie, Lamar, Richard and others.

That's what I thought too. Would they have been in the showroom in front of stage?
Huge diamond ring

Here's the video (in Italian, skip to 19'-21')

The only time he might have been front stage would have been in August 1970 (death threat delivered to FBI) or February 1973 (on-stage "attack"), incidents which involved heightened security.
