IMO I vote for his Madison Square Garden show on June 10 afternoon. The Memphis 74 show is increible and entertaining as well.
What's yours?

Portland 73, hawaii 61, houston 70, hampton roads 72. There are many. Sadly the poster of the thread is trying to prove a point.

No point. Just trying to keep it "Elvis related" around here. I come in peace.

Well I guess it's kinda in the "eye of the beholder."
I know I'm gonna catch hell for this, but one of my favorite shows is Sept. 28th at College Park.
He was definitely in a unique mind frame, but I thought he was absolutely hilarious inter-acting with the audience, etc. The crowd seemed to enjoy the show very much. There's others, I'm just short on time & gotta go! take it easy guys!

Glad you enjoy College Park, but there is no way it could ever legitimately be mentioned as a contender for Elvis' greatest live show.

The posters title subject doesn't necessarily mean the show had to be recorded.
Going by some of the concert reviews in 1957,
Los angeles 1957 first show
and Vancouver canada could very well beat out Hawaii 1961,but I think
the later might just be the best we have on tape.

Try to concentrate on making less post and more quality ones instead. There's nothing more annoying on a forum that someone posting about anything and doing what I call '' an indigestion of multi-post ''.

What about those who harrass, attack and derail every post I ever make? Just sayin'.

Try to do what I just wrote above and possibly won't happened then, on the contrary you can report the situation to the moderators.

Been there done that. I reported those who constantly slander me and my personal likes and views to the mods time and time again but absolutely nothing has been done about it. So I just assume those few are an exception to the rule. So much for equality.

I like the '61 Hawaiian set but this for me doesn't register enough of the full-blown mature artist he became in 1969 and probably peaking in '70, with notable highlights in '72, '73 and even late '76 had it's charms.
Maybe it's all the screaming girls but it's a much younger King to my liking and therefore not fully developed.
At the same time, a good '56 show (again minus the screams) might still top it.
But great, and underheralded, nonetheless!

I think if we had the '61 show in perfect sound, with well balanced instruments, we would all be blown away.

Oh, I agree and I've listened "past" all that (the screaming, etc.) but I still come away preferring Elvis in , say, '69 or '70.
But really, I love all the eras and what a shame we didn't get better audio for his live sets early on.

There are lots of others but the list would be too long, hopefully there are still some great concerts laying in the vaults waiting to be relased. We know that Hampton 72 is there anyway.
