Its' a shame Sonny West could not be invited to something like this.
Nevertheless, this is still worth while to see & hear, no matter how many times' the story
has been told by Jerry Schilling. The new twist this time, is Egil "Bud" Krogh is involved
in giving us the inside scoop of what took place the day Elvis met the President too,
which is a real plus to the over all story. As he was the Presidents' Deputy Counsel.
Questions' by the audience to my surprise, were actually, all pretty good too.
Again, this is a must see !
Thanks' for posting

Egil Bud Krogh introduces his book and says you can find there some pics of the meeting. Is that book the best source to get all the pictures in one place? Is there another book that gathers them all?

Is this an opinion of Nixon in general John or do you mean in the situation meeting Elvis?

There was a great Arena special show on UK TV some time ago, and it was the best program I've seen on this. It features interviews with Bud Krough, Jerry etc, making great use of the archive photos, the letter etc, and told the story in a fantastic way.
If anyone has a copy, please let me know!

Quite simply, superb ! Allowing for the fact that it focusses on one event only in his life, this must be one of the best documentaries ever on Elvis.
Beautifully paced, intelligent, warm, funny, respectful. This is the sort of thing Graceland should be selling as a DVD. I did manage to get a copy of the book when I was over there a few years back.
Many thanks for the link, Rockin'John.

Please note, I made some moderate change in your thread.
Adding the words' "MUST SEE !" to the title of the thread
and made your thread into a sticky, plus added the youtube borders to
produce a picture link to youtube in your post.
All done for all concern on FECC. Hope you do not mind.

I didn't sit down intending to watch the entire discussion but I ended watching it from start to finish... fascinating! I enjoyed that thoroughly. I always like listening to what Jerry has to say because you can really hear the sincerity in his voice when talks about Elvis. It was nice to hear Bud's view point as well... made for a very enjoyable listening experience. Thank you very much for posting that!

That was fun to watch. There wasn't anything in it I didn't know though, had been to the Nixon Library a couple of years ago, read Bud's book, and had been fascinated with that story since the early 90s. I got all the pictures back then when they used to be on a BBS but it was great to hear them tell it.
Does Bud remind anyone else of David Letterman?
