To tie loose ends by picking up some songs missing from the 1970/71 Worldwide Gold Award Hits volumes and the five 1997 Gold Records volumes...
How about a SONY retail reissue of 1975's Pure Gold album using Vic Anesini remasters?

Original album:
01. Kentucky Rain
02. Fever
03. It's Impossible
04. Jailhouse Rock
05. Don't Be Cruel
06. I Got A Woman
07. All Shook Up
08. Loving You
09. In The Ghetto
10. Love Me Tender
Bonus songs:
11. Good Rockin' Tonight
12. Such A Night
13. I'm Yours
14. (Such An) Easy Question
15. Frankie And Johnny
16. Separate Ways
17. Promised Land
18. I've Got A Thing About You Baby
19. Steamroller Blues
20. My Way

"Pure Gold"? smt178

I think THIS will be the point when I finally would think over of having my FTD collection complete ... maybe I should not buy FTDs anymore and go for the "How to make a quick buck" series releases (Rarities, Elvis Sings The Blues, Welcome In Germany, Golden Boy Elvis, Mahalo From Elvis and so on ...) instead?! :smt017

Me too, but only if they use the Saginaw version of My Way again.

I love ypur sarcastic wit, Matthew. As for the "My Way" snafu, it's over and done with. A mistake was made. It's not the first. It won't be last. It doesn't keep me from enjoying the remaining 99.9%. I've moved on. Not losing any sleep. If Joe Public bought this release it's quite likely he wouldn't know the difference. Only the "annointed" are cursed with the knowlege.

If they were going to do something like that, would it not be better to start from scratch and create a "Golden Records Vol.6".

The original "Pure Gold" track-listing was a little haphazard. Songs like "It's Impossible" and "Fever" don't really belong on hit compilations, and there's also the issue of track duplication from previous hit collections.

Please boycott all of these useless GH compilations. Send a blunt message to FTD/Sony....and let them know that we're mad hungry for any soundboard & multi track material from '74-'77. A petition is urged. We need to act now before it's too late. We must let these no good money hungry bean counters at Sony that they cannot dictate what kind of crap is released to the fans. Power to the people.
