You Don't Know Me left channel dropout has not be corrected on the Sony Complete Master box. But, unless I am deaf, I cannot hear a dropout on the FTD Elvis Sings Guitar Man CD. Comments?

Anesini who seemingly only wants to be faithful to the original mix no matter how good or bad it is.
And Jeansson who tends to want to IMPROVE upon the originals where he can.
Anesini's being faithful to the crappy Felton mixes of the 70s material is a pet peeve of mine. I like the Ferrante 70s studio mixes.
Now it makes sense to be faithful to the Bill Porter stuff!

Perhaps, Anesini is told by Sony to stick to the the original mixes (warts and all) whereas Jeansson is given a certain amount of freedom on FTD projects. Just sayin'.

Yes, I am sure you are right. After all, we can NEVER expect Elvis' catalog to be ever treated in a definitive and complete way. Just the fact that all the original albums from 1956-1977 are not available to buy is a shame. But give me the best possible (best meaning most dynamic, most transparent, most high fidelity studio quality, etc) mixes that can be done. To hell with "original"
Another example is the Beatles Yellow Submarine Songtrack from 1999, the mixes on that CD blow away the "original" mixes used when the entire catalog was redone in 2009. Number one, they moved the lead vocals to the center on songs where they were once on one channel or the other. and two, the dynamics, frequency extension and resolution is way above and beyond what was done on the 2009 remasters!
I want to hear Ringo's dandruff falling on his drum kit! I want to hear Elvis shoe soles scuffling on the studio floor!
