See, this shows exactly what kind of result you can get by treating 8mm fan footage with proper care. It looks fantastic.

If one could gather all of the disparate sources of footage from the evening show, you could reconstruct a good 80-90% of the performance.

We need more focus on this woefully under-explored area of the collective Elvis archive.

I'm looking forward to this release.

I don't have problem with that. It gives a proper mood for watching vintage 8mm footage and you get the complete picture data.

HA. Knowing some fans, they'd start a petition to Sony to re-release the "complete" footage with the edges included rather than having it taken out. They were right to keep it in. If it bothers certain people they should take it upon themselves to crop it out themselves.

I like it, it gives you that 'raw footage' feeling and it looks like it's presented in 16:9 because of this?
