For fan footage, the quality is staggering.

Sony has really taken a huge, positive step forward releasing this footage to the fans.This looks fantastic... can't wait to get this set!!! PS. The audio sounds as though it has not been remixed (possibly the VA remastered audio???), to these ears anyway.

Looks like he did a good job but the film looks very grainy on my computer screen. Still enjoyable though.

I agree that the CDs are a potential problem; in fact, until I saw this footage, I considered canceling my order. I doubted that Brauer was the right man for the job. He is a contemporary producer from a generation of studio-hands that have embraced a sleek, sterile and loud presentation. The odd thing is that Vic Anesini clearly worked on the MSG tapes - and I imagine it was done prior to the conception of this MSG box set. It is doubtful that Sony Legacy conceived both this box set and the standard Legacy Edition at the same time. It would make no sense to fund two different mastering (and mixing) sessions for the same audio that was to be released at the same time. For some reason, the people managing this project decided that a different engineering approach was in order for these concerts for this particular release. I really cannot figure out the logic. As it currently stands, to get the footage, one needs to purchase this box set. To get the best audio, one needs to purchase the Legacy Edition. Seems like fans are going to have to spend more than they should to get the best of both worlds.

The article say this is to be released on October 9 - that's TODAY!

Is this a typ-o or is it in stores today?

YES! great.
(Initial thought was "gotta be 16mm" ,but it gets grainy on a larger monitor)

Maybe, but have you already heard the evening show mix?
No samples are available yet so I do expect a significant improvement on that show.
