I've even seen it listed several times as November 20th (http://www.elvicities.com/~elvis100/biography3.htm). Perhaps, he signed on the 20th and 21st and not announced until the 22nd. Can anyone clear that up for sure? I've seen so many conflicting reports on this. It's still within the same 2-3 days and a pretty historic signing for RCA...which in the end is the real story. Just curious on the exact dates.

Yup, I've been researching this period of EP's career recently and all of my paperwork says 21 November 1955.

I wonder then if the 22nd is the day they announced it? These were days before immediate news could go out over the internet, Facebook, Twitter, etc. I had read they announced it on the 22nd so maybe that's where some confusion has been....that he signed on the 21st (not sure where some of those sources got the 20th but I saw several listing that date as well) and then announced on the 22nd.
