Elvis Duets Frank Sinatra Duets

Tue May 06, 2003 12:49 pm

Do you think , this would be a good idea to produce some Elvis takes in same as the Frank Sinatra Duet Cd's?

with Tom Jones, Anastacia, Billy Joel, Shania Twain etc
plus the Duet Don't cry Daddy with Lisa Marie?

Songs like:

Patch it up (with Tina Turner !)

Shania Twain, why not. She is great. Frank did a "duet" with Cindy Lauper...

a good country rocker from Elvis...

Promised land
Burning love....

Interesting idea.

I don't know if the hardcore fans would buy into that, though.
The difference between Sinatra's "Duets" was that he was still alive at the time
(although I know the songs weren't recorded with the other artists together with Sinatra)
I don't like that CD much. Sinatra did not sound good.

I guess it would be a novelty thing but the song choices may be difficult. Maybe it would appeal to a wider audience.

I'd buy it for the "novelty" factor alone - not as an Elvis fan.

Just my two cents.

well... :)

I don't think it is for the Elvis hardcore market. Think of last year:
A little less conversation was a megaseller, not only for hardcore Elvis fans. It was also a dancefloor hit in the clubs, everywhere.

I also bought the Sintra Duets and Iam not a big Frankie Fan. But the idea was good, the arrangements were good.
We need ideas to hold Elvis in the current market. ALLC was a big surprise, a risk but it WORKED.
Lisas Don't cry Daddy in 1997 was great, but they never releases it officially. It would became a megahit.
I guess there is potential for Elvis Duet songs.
