"You say the stars have promised you true love ten thousand times........" ['LET'S FORGET ABOUT THE STARS' - If we can class it as a 60's 'Film' recording].
That cool mature late - 60's 'Memphis like' voice in all it's unparalleled glory........

"They Remind Me Too Much Of You" was a B side. My pick would be "I Need Somebody To Lean On." I also like "I'm Falling In Love Tonight," "Am I Ready," "Angel" and "This Is My Heaven".

"Tender Feeling".
And I Like "Today, Tomorrow and Forever", "Let's Forget About the Stars", "Anyone (Could Fall In Love With You)", "What Every Woman Lives For", "Please Don't Stop Loving Me", "A Boy Like Me, A Girl Like You", "Angel", "A Whistling Tune".

I may have forgotten some.

I have three.

3rd is Anyone (Could Fall In Love) from KISSIN COUSINS. Sadly cut from the final print, it's a beautiful Nashville ballad.

2nd is They Remind Me Too Much Of You from IT HAPPENED AT THE WORLDS FAIR. It rivals any of the Nashville ballads from the 1960-64 studio period. Absolutely stunning.

1st is Please Don't Stop Loving Me from FRANKIE & JOHNNY. Utterly gorgeous recording with Elvis in fine mature voice!

Please Don't Stop Loving Me...

EDIT: Just realised it can't be a single A or B side! In that case, I'd have to go with Doin' the Best I Can.

And what a mighty fine title track PLEASE DON'T STOP LOVING ME would have made on a PROPER cohesive 60's soundtrack retrospective. It would have helped neutralise the inevitable criticism amd scepticism of such recordings.

It's hard to name just one

Just what we need! A mfilm collection of the GOOD songs that work out of context of the movie. Please Dont Stop, They remind Me Too Much of You, I Need Somebody To Lean On, Doin The Best I Can, Puppet on A String, So Close Yet So Far, All That I Am, Anyone etc etc

Could be a fine ballads collection.

An equally upbeat set could be culled from the likes of If you think I Don't Need You, Hard Knocks, Stop Look And Listen, Baby If You'll Give Me All Your Love, Shopping Around, C'Mon Everybody etc
