Good to see you again, Mike. That was indeed interesting information regarding "Danny Boy".

Re: Great New Review Of Venus CD: Never Again
For the sake of correctness, just want to add this to the topic... (I don't have this release, but I have heard this conversation and the transcript is wrong in this review and Ernst's book.) Here's the correct dialogue:
----------------------
Elvis: Glen, if you'd pay attention...you know....... You guys've been in musi- in the studio too long, sittin' there with "click, click, click....one, two, three, fo"... You know, get loose.. n live!.. you know, like you do on stage?
Glen (or someone): Well, we were all drunk, then!
Elvis: Well, get drunk now - fu##, man I'll get you so g)ddam bombed you won't even know where you're at... Bring out the booze..... Grandma! (everyone laughs)
----------------------
I love the real dialogue - paints a much better picture of Elvis. Hopefully, if Ernst ever does an update to his session book, this will be corrected.

Re: Great New Review Of Venus CD: Never Again
That dialogue is pretty hard to hear -- it's a lot closer to accurate in the FECC review than in Ernst's book.
How are you so sure, Jamie, especially not having the CD it appears on?

Re: Great New Review Of Venus CD: Never Again
I got a few of the "Never Again" takes awhile back (not all that are listed in this CD's tracklisting, but a few) that included this dialogue, and didn't have too much of a problem hearing it (it's a bit quiet, but nothing eq and noise reduction won't fix). I've been listening to Elvis since literally before I was born, so maybe that helps in deciphering Elvis' particular brand of southern somehow (that's not meant to sound snotty or glib, just meant in an "I don't know?" way) , but I'm completely certain that's the dialogue (except for the "click, click, click, click"... he's a bit mumbled there so that is my best guess - but the rest isn't guessing). That dialogue is pretty hard to hear
Hope that helps!
Sincerely,
Jamie
