Will they charge you extra like when you want to see the stable?intheghetto wrote:vivaelvis_72 wrote: So, if they were to ever dig him up one day, there would be no damage to the coffin or the remains. Elvis would still be intact.
Cool! That means that means that maybe one day they can take his remains and display them under glass in the 'bonus room' on the VIP tour. What good is it if you can see the mans clothes and possessions without seeing the man himself?

Re: Did You Know?
I always thought it happened to Henry as well, but now I'm not so sure. Maybe both kings burst?Suds wrote:I thought that happened to Henry VIII's body at Syon House. Maybe it happened to many of the bigger bodies.londonflash wrote:Something similar happened to William the Conqueror.elvisjock wrote:Elvis was buried inside a very expensive, but hardly unique, grave vault. And, there is documentation that sealed caskets, like the one purchased for Elvis, can actually cause unintended consequences. Gases become trapped inside the casket, which can create nasty conditions for the body. Let's hope we never see the results.
When he died, the weather was warm and he was fat. Because he wasn't buried immediately, the gases inside his stomach brewed away and when the bishops tried to push the porker into his coffin to close the lid, his stomach burst.
Better start that diet!!
I recall reading in a book at school that in the 19th century, Henry's remains were found when they trying to locate where Charles I was resting. Apparently, they weren't in too bad nick considering they'd already been brown bread for 200 - 300 years, with facial hair still on show!

If he still is intact, I guess our man is just waiting for someone to open the casket, and he'll jump up right in front of you and just say : YYYYYYYOOOOOUUUU AIN'T NOTHIN' BUT A HOUND DOG................
