It seems so. Elvis mentions that "it's 4 (o'clock) in the morning" at least three times during the show. I guess The Sweet Inspirations and the Imperials took at the stage at 3 A.M. and then so did Elvis about an hour later.

This is absolutely true but it could be a belated MS anyway..that could have taken place for some reasons..

What time was it, typically when Elvis' portion of the Dinner and Midnight shows started?

Where is did you get Sep 06 from?

It is known that Elvis did three shows in "one day" to close out the 1970 Summer Festival:

Mon Sep 07 DS
Mon Sep 07 MS
Mon Sep 07 3AM
-- obviously this is Tue Sep 08, but it done only a few hours after the MS

Have you had a chance to compare it to other tapes? Do you feel the labeling is correct?

This "new" show -- if truly new -- could be actually from Sep 07.

Sun Sep 06 DS
Sun Sep 06 MS
Sun Sep 06 3AM
-- obviously this is Mon Sep 07, but it done only a few hours after the MS

Why? Because ticket demand had to have been at its greatest at the end of the run, the final two days (Sep 06 and 07).

If Elvis set foot on stage at 0:00:01 obviously that was Mon Sep 07 as well, wasn't it? Even if the pre-show started at the mentioned hour technically that was Mon Sep 07, too.

You must be new to this subject.

No matter when Elvis hit the stage, the Las Vegas MS is consistently credited to the calendar day at 11:59:59.

No, I'm not new to the subject and I do know how a midnight show is credited hence the word technically and the  . Guess you must be new to the concept of wit, Doctor.

John,..I have compared and the show is new..if it`s from 3 AM your assumption about the chronology matches my thoughts..
And you are right about ticket demand..that`s why the 8.9.70 3 am show was added..Elvis mentions the morning time a few times during the concert so it is in fact a late show... but I have my doubts about an extra added "3 AM show"..all others are well documented..we have 3.9.72 3 AM and 2.9.73 3 AM....there is no mentioning in any of the common books about the date in question..what i think is that this in fact a very late MS..perhaps Elvis didn`t "feel well" at 0.00 and started the show later.. anyway he still sounds very medicated to me and it could be that at 0.00 he was not able to enter the stage..and needed some rest..if you listen to the DS that day ..he already seems to be under the influence of something..so I think we have the MS from this day with a very late beginning...

That is fascinating, and also a strong, albeit sad, possibility.

This means it remains technically a MS, perhaps with an asterisk explaining the late start.

There's no doubt that Elvis was pretty bored in summer 1970 as soon as the MGM crew packed up and left Las Vegas. It should have been a MAJOR red flag to management that monthly Vegas bookings needed to end. But we know what happened after that.

If you take the 6.9.70 3am date as an extra show for granted..yep..

But if it's really just a very delayed MS, the answer is no.

Correct..I take it as a regular MS till further investigation proves the opposite..

Could be. Maybe there was a problem with the sound system or something else came up to delay things a couple of hours.
