Elvis Songs FECC'ers Love to Hate - THE ALBUM

Mon Mar 14, 2011 8:55 am

Inspired by the 'My Boy Joke' thread I've come up with a list of songs that are with the possible exception of Burning Love quite unpopular amongst us loyal FECC'ers. Perhaps as a gesture to the fans who have supported the label Ernst could consider dusting these down and issuing on the FTD label with all known outtakes/live versions. Then you can listen to all known versions of the songs you despise to your hearts content. How about it Ernst?

Elvis Songs FECC'ers Love to Hate - THE ALBUM

Tracklisting:

My Boy
The Last Farewell
Old Shep
How’s The World treating you?
Padre
I’ll Never Fall in Love Again
Burning Love*
Hey Jude
Life
Three Corn Patches
From a Jack to a King
Take Good Care of her

"It's Easy For You" has gotten a lot of traction lately and easily should crack the top ten.

I think you are pretty accurate, although I saw What Every Woman Lives For bashed as being the most sexist song in Elvis' reportoire. I would opt to let it replace Burning Love since that 1972 does not belong here, no matter what. What happened to My Boy? As a controversal song it is more in place than From A King To A jack.

Maybe we can make a double album of the most bashed songs! I do not mind to see the Love me Tender soundtrack included (apart from the titlesong) as well as Lonesome Cowboy and Hot Dog.

Haha, I see My Boy makes the 'list' - I've always really liked it and it's clear Elvis was in to it also, plenty of Elvis magic in the chorus. I'm loving the version on 'Dixieland Rocks'.

One for the list... 'He's Your Uncle, Not Your Dad'

It looks like this is growing to be more a boxset instead of just a single album.

Ah, yes....been awhile...a-While.

I really do like "Woman Without Love" though. It was my favorite on the "Today' album for a long time until I moved over to "Pieces Of My Life." "Promised Land" and "Today" may be my favorite albums of the mid '70s.

Any of you goobers care to stand in front of me and tell me otherwise?

I'm behind you! Like both LPs (in the main), but Woman Without Love is a ghastly throwback.

I'm making a playlist of that stunning sequence of songs at this very moment. Brilliant!

How about as a bonus song we include "Petunia, the Gardener's Daughter"?

"Fools Rush In (Where Angels Fear To Tread)" is so bad everyone here even forgot it exists.
