Brand New Official Suspicious Minds Remix

Post by GibbersGanfa »

..

I found this while searching for some other unrelated Elvis stuff on Amazon. I don't know how long this has been up there and how many people know about this, but this is a new DANCE remix similar to ALLC, Rubberneckin', and "Baby Let's Play House," except it is more laid back. Definitely what those in the know would call a "lounge mix." There are actually two remixes included, the "Can't Walk Out" mix and the more uptempo "The Movement Remix."

It's mp3-only but is an official release. I actually prefer this to the main Viva Elvis version. They use a combination of the Viva Elvis version and more elements from the original version. Elvis's voice is way out front (except on the instrumental version, obviously!)

And if you are going to come onto this thread and start complaining about remixes, go make your own hater thread. This isn't for you, and you are never going to like it no matter what, and those of us who do like this sort of thing KNOW that, so there no point in repeating your same point over and over in a thousand different threads.

Can buy it here: http://www.amazon.com/Suspicious-Minds-Remixes-Viva-Elvis/dp/B004BUDFZM/ref=sr_shvl_album_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1290836342&sr=301-3

Interesting.

Worth downloading.

While I do like VE and think it's nicely done, do we really need another VE thread? Seriously? Don't we already have enough of them as it is? This is just asking for more problems from those who don't like it.

It's not the same. It's something COMPLETELY NEW, that until today was probably unknown to exist, as it was NOT part of the album, was not promoted that it was going to be released. There has been nothing, not even a peep that this was going to be released, or that it was even produced.

I'm not bringing up something that's already been discussed like charting or whatever. This is a brand new remix. The thread is about this remix specifically. If you think we've had enough Viva Elvis threads, let's just call it "New Suspicious Minds Remix" and leave the Viva Elvis part out of it. In fact, I'll do that.

Well said, this was news to me and I thank you for bringing the release up.

Posting real news on some existing threads is getting difficult thanks to some lunatics

Just took a listen. It's interesting and not all that bad but I don't like how it's all broke up and scattered. But that's just me. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I liked the version from VE better.

I like remixes generally and don't HATE this, but I prefer the VIVA ELVIS version as released on CD. This one has too much going on, especially from about 3:15 onwards.

Yeah, I won't deny that. The non-remixed album version actually sounds more straightforward in light of something like this! But like tigerman2001 said, different strokes for different folks, so to speak. Again, I'm still very surprised that no one at Sony or in the Viva Elvis/EPE camp mentioned that there would be remixes to accompany the single. Definitely came out of left field and not something I had expected to stumble on tonight.

This was Tigerman's last post with us on this board.

Hmmmmm ....

He joined Nov. 15, 2010, just a week after "Viva Elvis" was released (and majorly flopped), posted 144 times in just over a week, (and caused a commotion and a few waves to boot), and now -poof-, he hasn't been heard or seen anywhere.

Coincidence anyone ???
