CD 2 from "On Stage Season" - Closing night, Feb 23, 1970.

This was my very first time listening to this show, and it was the first time in a long time that I was so taken that I listened to it a full second time in a row. It's actually still sitting in the car waiting for listen number three.

I was a little worried as CD 1 (Opening night) was so tough on the ears with the audio mix having the vocals way, way up.

But CD 2 absolutely kicks butt. It's my favorite live discovery since PFAP.

On the weekend I gave this one another spin. Certainly not the best performance of the King, but surely not a bad one either. And by the way...it's much improved compared to the FTD version.

I don't really buy that.

Listen and be the judge. Here's a little A-B comparison of the two:

Still sitting in the car?!?

Thank goodness Rob isn't around anymore. He would have a heart attack.

Not a concert, but a trowback to last year.
Elvis At Stax, Great set, amazing sounding (and best sounding) Outtakes + Masters. Looks great to!
Bought the Vinyl version this month, Great to (altough it misses a booklet, and glossy sleeves)

This is my favorite post-1972 show bar none. A varied setlist and Elvis is funny and on for the songs in the set. I would have been quite satisfied attending this show in person.

This is one show I hope Ftd have the first generation tape of. Would love to see a 7" package of this.
Great show - listening as I write

As I am reading Kieran Davis Live at the International, I am hung up on 70-71 shows lately. Really enjoying The Man in White Vol 3 and Double Dynamite. Fantastic performances, good humor and good sounding audience recordings.

Funny thing: I just told a friend of mine that I stopped listening to all these shitty audience recordings. But then I cleaned up my "office" and re-discovered this CD. I had not listened to it for quite a while (I guess ever since it has been released) and put it into my player. And what can I say: I really liked it! OK, the sound is not too good and some songs were performed better elswhere, but in general I think it was a good show with a lot of things to enjoy. :D

The 1974 soundboard that is included with "Fashion For A King". What bored me about this CD is that he seemed to talk too much....

I haven't listened to the '76 CD yet from the same book....

You mean the Dec. 1975 show. It's a pretty good show.

Yep, sorry....I misread the CD info. I think that this CD is one of those times where I really, really disliked J.D.'s "dive-bomb" routine at the end of "I Got A Woman"/"Amen"......
