But we don't care what they like!''. Great versions of My boy, a rocking big hunk (with kick ass solo) After that a great applause and elvis asking if they want more, and says allright, Lets do release me!.

IIRC, that comment was officially released on this 1974 LP:

I believe you are correct. I remember hearing that there, too.

Thanks!

Actually quite solid it's not like the 1976 versions (Where elvis kind of plays around with the glory glory hallelujah part, or jokes), more like the 1975 versions, during the instrumental (after the trumpet solo when the orchestra comes out)elvis is kind of improvising but the band doesn't follow him, so he says wowow hold it. And reprises it with a great ending. It's a serious version

January 28 1971 - Midnight Show - Las Vegas...

Good Show even though Elvis has the sniffles. U can tell he is under the weather but is still in a good mood. At one point after "Love Me Tender" he says he has lost one of his chains. Could he be wearing the chain suit? That would be rare for 1971. The Highlights for the show are "Polk Salad Annie" (without the monolgue. This is like the 1972 versions), "Johnny Be Goode", "Something", "Heartbreak Hotel", "One Night", "Suspicious Minds" (with a big karate demo afterwards), and "The Impossible Dream" (that includes an extra line). The negatives are the shorter version of "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" without the I get down on my knees for you verse. The Short version of "The Wonder of You" and a half assed version of "Teddy Bear" that Elvis didn't know. afterwards he apologizes jokingly saying "We just learn up here when u tell us...Unless someone reminds us we forget a lot of them". Overall it a good high energy show.

That's Alright Mama
I Got A Woman
Love Me Tender (+ 1 False Start)
You Don't Have To Say You Love Me
Sweet Caroline
You've Lost That Lovin Feelin (short version)
Polk Salad Annie
"Instrumental break"

DEH, I just found your note about July 22, 1975, and the fact that "Memphis" must have been an audience request. My friend gave Elvis a toy red phone, and he put it up to his ear and started singing "Memphis." My friend's phone must have inspired Elvis because he didn't sing "Memphis" in any of the other July 1975 shows in Asheville. It was also the one and only time Elvis sang lead on "Why Me Lord". Don't know if he was trying to make up with JD about the Sweets episode or not, but it was beautiful.

Elvisly,

Linda

Even during his final months Elvis could put on an acceptable show. Here he sounds straight and willing to give the people their money's worth. Besides that, the sound is pretty good for an audience recording, too.
