Re: Last Elvis Concert You Listened To Was?
Being a German myself I can assure you that we would not do things like that. Maybe we start a world-war, but we would not release a 1976 Presley concert or force anyone to listen to it.

Re: Last Elvis Concert You Listened To Was?
After several years I gave POLK SALAD ANNIE a spin. Elvis obviously has a cold (and maybe he tried to fight it with some happy-pills), but still his voice sounds good and the show is very entertaining.
Re: Last Elvis Concert You Listened To Was?
The last 3 I recently listened to:
- San Francisco Bay Blues
- Black Diamond (CS LV 1976)
- Vegas Variety Vol. 6

I recently sat through Live In Alabama and Elvis In West Texas. It was definitely an accomplishment.Matthew wrote:Did a German invade your house and put a gun to your head?midnightx wrote:Elvis In West Texas
(I think that is how the release got green-lit in the first place as it happens).

Just listened to 'Elvis As Recorded Live On Stage In Memphis FTD'. This is one of my all-time favourite concerts, I love it from start to finish.

To me it's clear that this concert was one of the best from 1974.

Re: Last Elvis Concert You Listened To Was?
I just listened to the afternoon show from Hunstville, September 6, 1976. A really good show that I enjoyed. Elvis puts together a good show and as it's been stated above, the crowd seems to be enjoying the show as well. I enjoyed Elvis' versions of Fairytale, And I Love You So, That's All Right, and Polk Salad Annie. I just wish that Elvis would have done longer versions of That's All Right. Right to the very end Elvis always did a really nice job with this one. A most pleasant surprise was the inclusion of One Night. A song which is always good to hear. Admittedly the afternoon performance of Hurt is not as strong as the evening performance. I like the delivery of America on the afternoon release better than the evening performance for reasons I've stated in a different thread.
The sound quality is outstanding and gave me the feeling of being there. A nice job by those who produced this release.
IMHO this is a really good show which features Elvis performing well. I am grateful to Ernst and FTD for this release.

..
It's a very short show (which I can see why people would have reservations about this release) but the sound is amazing and Elvis gives a good show. Can't go wrong with November 1970.

Without question this is the best of all the pro-recorded/released concerts we have.Hobbes wrote:my current favorite of the 69 shows. In the Ghetto sounds really good.

Even though the sound does not match the quality of ELVIS IN ALABAMA, the concerts are just great. To me THE ON STAGE SEASON is one of the best concert-releases by FTD.

Ditto. With the recent discussion I had to give it another listen.

I am afraid some germans even still think the years from 1939 to 1945 had their merits.A. C. van Kuijk wrote:Being a German myself I can assure you that we would not do things like that. Maybe we start a world-war, but we would not release a 1976 Presley concert or force anyone to listen to it.
When hitler went on world wide tour with the opening 1939 in Poland.

Welcome back, Rob!
Finally. I look forward to discussing new soundboards with you again. It's been a bit dull lately, very few people posted their thoughts on "The West Cost Tour '76" for example.

Just visiting for the moment. Don't know if I'll stay or not. It's nothing for a feller to push the nuke button like I did a couple of years ago. That said, it is nice to see some of the old familiar folks again.Keith Richards, Jr. wrote:Welcome back, Rob!

Haven't received "The West Coast Tour" yet. Hopefully soon.
