This is how Elvis six top selling CD this did this week, as per Soundscan. The Lilo and Stitch album,
with heavy elvis input, albeit its sales not credited to Elvis, returned to the Soundtrack chart.
See at bottom, below, for special mention of Äfternoon in the Garden¨.

Almum sales..................................... this week..............last..................total.........................Catalog chart placing

AFTERNOON IN THE GARDEN................... 2.343................2.164................. 550.202.............................50
HEART & SOUL..................................... 2.246............... 1.997.................. 642.230
ELVIS COUNTRY..................................... 1.924................1.686.................. 180.233
BEST OF LOVE...................................... 1.673................1.598................... 356.758
ELVIS INSPIRATIONAL............................. 1.576.................1.473.................... 153.847
VIVA LAS VEGAS...................................... 442.................. 363..................... 56.927
LILO & STITCH SOUNDTRACK...................... 314....................317.................. 1.076.111

New on the Catalogue Charts: The twelve albums on this week's Catalog chart that weren't on last week's chart are all returning entries, and all but one of them have charted earlier in 2013. The one first-timer for this year is Elvis Presley's "An Afternoon In The Garden" (Madison Square, that is), coming in at the bottom rung. It spent 37 weeks on the chart in 2011, and another 13 weeks last year, getting as high as #8 in 2011 and #22 last year. This is its first charting week in over a year, since April 7 of last year.

Thanks, Jamie.
10,204 albums sold this week.

Why aren't sales for Lilo and Stitch soundtrack album credited to Elvis?

Re: SoundScan (US) sales-figures

I think it has to do with the percentage of songs by an artist, within an album, as well as whether the artist's name appears on the cover, but I'm not really sure.

Re: SoundScan (US) sales-figures

Sat May 11, 2013 6:09 pm

"An Afternoon In The Garden" still selling an average of about 2,000 copies every week, WOW !

Who woulda thought when released in '97 that it would sell 550,000 thus far ? keep rockin' EP !

Hopefully within time, maybe we'll get two (2) Platinum awards for this and "Heart And Soul". Amazing.

Still find it weird that the genre title, "elvisrock" was on a steady roll, only to disappear, (still easily available), then "Inspirational" and "Country" steal it's thunder in sales.

Actually, "Christmas Duets", "Afternon in the garden" and "The Essential Elvis" have already reached the RIAA award levels of 500,000, 500,000 and 1,000,000 units respectively, so they would be in fact next in line t to actually get the said RIAA awards and thereby increase Elvis' RIAA album totals from 134.5, to 136.0 millon.

Too early yet for most of the Billboard Charts for w/e 22nd June, 2013 but one advance chart has caught my eye as follows:

'Elvis On Tour' has entered the Top Music Video Chart at No.1. I suspect there is a special offer taking place for this to happen.

Question for Brian: Are the sales of the new Aloha Legacy Edition added in with the original release or is it considered an independant release because it includes both shows?

Hi Brad,

Unfortunately it will be treated by the RIAA as a new release because of both albums being included.

Who knows how many the original VHS video sold? It has never been certified but one would imagine it has sold enough over the years. Maybe now it is back in the chart, sales will gather momentum.
